Not recommended, thought it was more of a turn-based card game, turns out it's more of a auto-battler with barely any control on a character.

Shameful, honestly. A very weak remaster for the already very old game. No changes to the cutscenes, poor localization and zero QoL features that would make it worth buying. During gameplay I've encountered a few bugs, script errors and 2 sotlocks that I was only able to solve by relaunching the Chapter and restarting the game. Better buy Amerzone's remaster than this.

Pretty cool, though a bit monotonous.

What seems to be a good new story at the first glance when you're going through the prologue, turns out to be a very weak entry to the already-the-most-scripted game series. Gameplay-wise it's so generic that there's barely any fun. Each mechanic feels like it just exists, no fancy tricks or skill curve, just a function.

Most of the missions are exact copies of their analogs in previous Mafias, the only difference is a location. The story is absolutely predictable, you can literally guess how each of the Chapters exactly will go. I don't mind linear story but the ending imo is horrible and illogical. There's about zero freedom of actions that you can do during the missions, at most you'll get 2 stealth paths with no meaningful changes.

The world is absolutely static with NPCs having a single idle animation in their kit. You don't want to explore it, though there are 145 collectibles spread around (spoiler: you don't get anything for collecting them, beside 1 outfit for 50 foxes). And only 1/5 of those collectibles are placed on the Story path, for the rest you'll need to go in Free Roam mode.

I did like the OST and custscenes, the immersion in the 1/3 part of a game. Wouldn't recommend buying it, just watch the cutsenes on Youtube.

Really cool take on a Trackmania-esque speedrun-oriented game. Was positively surprised how high the player skill ceiling is set up. Nice little touch that you need first to find a shortcut and only then get access to other players replays. And replays itself - very well implemented.

I've only encounter a bug where after a long session the sound would dissapear, twice, had to restart the game to fix it. Absolutely recommend it to try for yourself, and will be looking for the full release.

It is bad. Unplayable piece of UE4 code with close to zero optimization. If you're playing in anything but the Fullscreen mode - you aren't able to select the resolution. The graphic presets aren't changing anything, performance is awful on all of them. On every checkpoint re-loading your settings are reset to default ones. The motion blur is active and you can't turn it off.

The healing consumables that you assign to the hotkeys, becomes unassigned after a single use. Imagine that you need to equip it after each use in the battle.

A weak attempt to create a Roboquest clone, failing in each aspect, starting from the clunky movement and awful sound-design to inconsistent pacing and meta-progression. If you'll reach the 3rd area (or even 2nd) without spending points for upgrades - you gonna get tons of bullet-sponge mobs on each floor.

EDIT to responses:

My main point is that it's becoming unfun at the later stages if you didn't die earlier and were unable to spend meta-progression points. Why not to scale enemies HP by the current player's level?

Also, I've tried to change the difficulty mid-run to get rid of bullet-sponges - and it seemingly changed nothing, nor outcoming or incoming damage. And yes, I've spent all of my points available at the time between runs, there are clearly some OP stuff like Heal on successful hit.

The overall feeling I've constantly had while playing was: the game tries really hard to be fast-paced with hero's movement, but the enemies are falling behind, always stuck to the edges or just sitting and waiting in one place. At the same time we have the Flying skulls, Laser-beam ones and the exploding toxic shrooms often out of the player's sight.

Nice tracks though, I guess.

Good metroidvania, nice gameplay mechanics, a bit lacking a distinctive visual style.

Multiplayer stopped working after the first run together
Unable to rejoin a friend, or invite him to play again. Spent around 40 minutes trying all kind of stuff, nothing helped. Once the friend was able to join back but his entire UI got glitched and it became unplayable.

UPD: Still a fun experience in solo mode, although many caveats from the original game are still present here.

Short (1,5h of gameplay) but fun atuo side-scroller with occasional slow-paced platforming sections, music drives it for sure
