Disclaimer: This is not a post to defend the devs and the game, just trying to share a more mature view of the game and its state for those looking for such.

Well, rubberbanding, server crashes, some issues with friends being unable to play and much much more little things. Rocky start as of now, but unlike it seems most of the community I came here fully expecting a ♥♥♥♥ storm - I play'd ARK in EA and many many more.

However, I paid to support a massive ambitious undertaking that hits so many sweetspots for me that it was hard not to go for it and while I am at times vexed and frustrated - I'm not going to be a little baby about - I will report, record, speculate and move on while letting the devs know of absolutely anything worthwhile. That's why I'm in an early access game, that when in due time the game is more polished and finished that it'll be the grand experience I wished - or at least very close.

Desppite the recommendation, I do not recommend it for most, but to those who are specificly looking for a pirate/sailing/survival mix of a grand scale and don't mind paying less now, instead of more later to help out the devs deliver on their vision.

The game has massive potential - but it seems internet anonymity and general idiocy is making hard for early access products be viewed as such and reviewed as such.

As of today, with my high-end rig I can enjoy a beautiful, clearly built on top of ARK - pirate/sailing and such simulator with _SANDBOX_ content, which is my story is my own and what I do with it is up to me. If you're looking for PotC/Black Sails MMO - you're close, but that's not necessarily how generic it's trying to be.
