The Helldivers are a forced to be reckoned with. No game has a stronger community.

The Game is Fun and the Community is the best damm community I've run in to for years.
We beat the Bugs, We beat the Automatons and we beat Sony!

Come Join the Helldivers, you will NOT regret it.

This game Is Good but the Ending left me devastated and really regretting playing it.

The gameplay is great and Distinctly had the polish of Portal 2 without feeling like a clone however the story culminates in a way that's distinctly unsatisfactory.

I enjoyed myself and the story did work well and really drove me forward while playing it but sadly you can predict the ending by around half way and sadly it doesn't give you a twist to make it a satisfying ending.

Also, only 1 ending. No secret ending that makes things better.

Just to start off I bought the game at 67% off and at that price point I am recommending this game. It is NOT worth it at full price.
Now I enjoyed the gameplay, it has all the good bits from previous borderlands games and lots of neat extras that make the minute to minute gameplay great. I only played single-player as this game is old at this point and no one on my friends list either has it or has already played it.

The story is fun and there's lots of genuinely funny moments, and if you like Tina this will only make you like her more.
It's understandable if some of the more reference heavy jokes don't land though.
However the pacing is a bit off sometimes, like basically the game expects you to push the story only until you open up traversing the ocean as several things like weapon and gear slots are locked behind that. Additionally if you just focus the story the game is very short as you only need to do 8-9 quests to reach the final boss including the tutorial. Also the world map feature makes the world feel small too despite in theory having roughly the same amount of locations/maps as other Borderlands games the fact that 5 of them are 100% optional and don't feel connected in anyway means this "Big Fantasy World" feels tiny. However that might be a intentional aspect due to it's B&B(D&D) inspired world.

Also, no actual DLC. All the DLC is extra optional dungeons which are just a series of arena fights and not full exploratory areas.

In conclusion I had fun, The game is not Bad however it suffers simply from the "AAA" label and by extension it's pricing.

It's a fun experience that's even more fun with friends but as long as you have a Mic and are willing to communicate even a crew of randoms can do great things and have a lot of fun.
There's very little locked off from you out of the gate and while Progression can be grindy for some things there's enough smaller rewards along the way to make it feel satisfying and all rewards are cosmetic in nature.
The key thing is to remember, it's a game, everyone you meet is another person wanting to have fun in their own way and don't get attached to anything as there's always another time.

A Lucas Arts Classic that still holds up well today, as long as you remember all the solutions. Not for the one unwilling to look up a guide as while once you know the answers the puzzles are fun and make sense but I do remember when young It did leave me stuck for extended periods of time.

A Brilliant little World to poke around and explore.
While it might seem simple and really your only going to be playing it for a few hours at a time, it's a game you will want to come back to just to experience it again and poke around for more things to discover.

Early Access Review
The combat in the early to mid game still needs some work, the AI very clearly follows you through walls and it means even when playing perfect you will still take unavoidable chip damage. But the Level design and environmental storytelling is top tier. I Love the work done on Xen and now it's the best part of the game.

Once they go back and polish the earlier chapters with the skills they learned making Xen I foresee this becoming a modern masterpeice and a Remake that Halflife Deserves.

Incredibly good at drawing you in with a great soundtrack and sound design in general.
Builds a brilliant atmosphere to be lost in.

Gears For Breakfast, Bolts for Lunch and Bearings for Dinner!

This game is soo much fun right now and Once the workshop is off the ground and out of beta it sounds like there may be no end in site!

If you own a steam controller Thats what I used but any xbox pad would serve just as well.
