Although it is a sequel to The Nanny, From The Woods' story can be consumed without having played other Midnight Scenes games. As others have mentioned, this installment does depart from the puzzle solving emphasis. It focuses more on getting the story told and has a heftier portion of narrative compared to the previous games.

This game should come with additional warnings such as the deep desire to own a pet goose and unlocking paranoia about tree roots.
