Early Access Review
EDIT:

Game is dead :(

Overview:
So, I've always loved KSP. Played it through high school, the game definitely helped nurture my love of space. It some how ran on my absolute brick of a school laptop (4GB ram, Intel integrated graphics - you get the picture).

So, KSP 2 is essentially that experience. Note, I am still running a GTX 1080 but it runs, from what I can tell, pretty similar to a PC with an RTX 4090. Which is hilarious. Being very early access, I was expecting a pretty rough go. But I loved the original and I'd love to help the developers make the game by providing feedback.

The Good:
The game captures the KSP essence amazingly. Rocket not strong enough? More boosters. Really poor control? More control surfaces, torque moduls and RCS thrusters EVERYWHERE. So a list of things I like,
- The new vehicle construction - love it. Blueprint mode, Fantastic. Multi-part/vehicle assembly, sooooo good. Now I don't have to have the mess of trying to get inbetween small gaps to connect something.
- Countdowns - My god, never thought I'd love that delay. But it feels so cinamatic, super rewarding. PLUS, you can just skip it if it isn't for you.
- Mid-flight pause - Love it. Rocket starts to fall apart or your thrusters are about to burn out? Quickly pause, fix the problem and continue

The Bad
You know it allready, the original KSP had its bugs... But this - my god.
- Optimise, Optimise... OPTIMISE!
- UI - I like the flight controls, but everything else is either too big or too small. Make it user adjustable. Also if I right click a
- BUG FIX PLEASE - My favourite bug so far is saving mid flight, reloading and having my wings completely separated from the body, no crashing, no breaking. Just like the structure just completely forgot it existed.

In Summary

KSP 2 is a un-optimise buggy mess. But If you are a KSP fan and want to help the devs build something amazing give it a buy... That said the $77 AUD price tag is a bit much, like actually hurts. If your all about perfect performance and no bugs - give this a skip until the game releases fully.
