Dota 2 is an amazing game, that is better then the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ league in every way i like. The reason because this review is negative is because this game pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my life. Is it majorly because of my irresponsibility? Sure. But no game other than this is nearly as addictive once you get into it. It was a dark period of me living in my 14m² playing this game for up to 16 hours per day, with this game giving me illusion of accomplishment with each win, and a need to get my MMR back whenever I lose. A neverending cycle of dopamine rush and withdrawal. Stopping playing it was the best decision of my life. If you ever realise that you are spending too much time in this game - uninstall it and promise to yourlelf that you will never play it again, even when the friends are asking you. If you are responsible or already have an established life thay you are reasonably happy with - this game probably won't hurt you, and it may be good for you. But if you are an irresponsible student with ADHD like me - don't ever even think about getting into this. Because if you like it, you might end up like me.

This game's speedrunning community is going to be absolutely insane if it does form.

Now that I have completed the game, and did some progress towards 100%ing it, I feel like there's something that needs to be said about some of the game's highs and lows.

First of all, this is a great game, certainly not a disappointment after Hollow Knight. The skill ceiling is no lower, the story is good (and more graspable to me personally), and the map is huge and beautiful in it's own way, the atmosphere is as good, if not better. But this game is... different from Hollow Knight in many things, and for the most part, that's a good thing. Many things are major improvements from Hollow Knight, since, remember, that game has flaws too. Healing is much better, the amount of animations Hornet has is insane in comparison, and the NPCs that can fight are actually good at it and feel strong (the last one is a minor thing, but I like that personally). There's also way less powercreep in comparison to HK. That isn't actually concidered an issue in HK, but I feel like Silksong doesn't really force you to spend any time getting upgrades or anything. If you don't do that in HK, you'll suffer way more. Love the combat and it's variety. Different attack styles (crests) are an unexpected, but very welcome surprise.

In addition, I haven't encountered a single bug or glitch throughout my completion, and there aren't any performance issues either (remember, Hollow Knight has a lot of bugs and issues on its release).

However, there are flaws. Very easily fixable flaws regarding balancing. Most notably - At least half of the enemies and almost ALL of the bosses are capable of dealing double damage. In Hollow Knight, that is reserved for big, easily dodgeable attacks, as well as just a handful of endgame bosses. Here, even some of the small enemies double hit. That's pretty punishing, concidering that health upgrades seem to be a bit more difficult to find. Sure, fast healing partially solves that, but only partially. I have 200 hours in Hollow Knight, obviously beat P5, and yet this game proved difficult... like Hollow Knight was when I only started playing.
Also, a way less major problem is the scarceness of the currency. In HK, you would often find yourself having a lot of Geo, and have nothing to do with it. Here there's way things to spend the currency (rosaries) on, and fewer sources. You never really had to grind for geo in Hollow knight, but here, I've found myself doing that on multiple occasions.

Now, do you see what's the problem with this review? That's right, it compares Silksong to Hollow Knight way too much. We shouldn't forget that first of all, these are different games, which while comparable, aren't, and shouldn't be the same or similar in every aspect. Besides, this is the game's first patch, and it's already this good. The main issues are super fixable, and Team Cherry might tackle them soon enough, after which I will be editing this review.

So, yeah, buy this game. You probably won't regret it.
