People compare Starbound to Terraria and while I see the resemblance between the two, they should be looked at as separate games.

When I first got Starbound I was intreagued at the new stylistic flair they put on the 2d Voxel based canvas. Everything felt smooth and managed to work as a voxel game. The gameplay was easy to get into and the idea of the game is pretty straight forward.

I stopped playing for a while due to lack of updates a while back. However, now that Starbound is seeing updates again, the game is much better and has much more promise.
