This game is a gem!
It's amazing to be in the middle of tense fighting and take a look at the map and realize you are flanking the enemy's position from all angles, artillery shelling away, explosions everywhere and you just spotted an enemy garrison that your Squad Leader marks and the Commander drops a bombing run on.

There is a bit of a learning curve, but typically you start as just a grunt soldier while you learn the ropes. You'll have a Team Commander, who will try to coordinate defenses and offenses, setup garrisons to backup your defenses and supply the team with everything they need. There are several maps, each map has 5 random locations to capture or defend.

The Commander talks to Squad Leaders directly through command-chat, while those leaders give directions to their own squads. This is a multi-level game regarding coordination from command chat, squad chat, and proximity chat.
The teams consist of infantry, tanks, and snipers/recon, as well as artillery and logistics. Engineers are able to build defenses such as walls and bunkers, barbed wires, all sorts of things to slow down an enemy and provide extra cover for defenders.

The game does have some issues, like kicking me for "High Ping" because my internet connection isn't that great.. But that's about my only real complaint.

I'm giving it a thumbs down mostly due to a recent temp-ban I received by mistake. In the past year or so they've introduced a "Trial System" were people are judged on their reports by other players. If you have a bad game or decide to give up because the role you claimed is no longer alive, you will get a ban. After 3 bans you're permanently banned. This system is flawed AF, people get banned for spamming by saying "no theme!" 5 times in a row or like I said, if your defense isn't as good as the Trial Judge thinks it should be -- ban. The system is new and I'd definitely switch this review if they remove the system.

Overall the game is fun when everyone is playing their roles. However, the odds of getting a game like that are next to impossible. Usually half of mafia will quit because those roles aren't as fun, so instead of starting with 15 people you're down to like 11 by day 2. People spam racist remarks almost every lobby in the pre-game, these are just people with free accounts and they just make another when they're banned in a month, so streaming a game like this would not be possible really.

The DLC Coven is bad, don't waste money on that -- nobody plays it except when it's free for a limited time.

Again, until they actually fix the major problems like spamming new accounts, and false positives on reports from people that can barely speak English, it's not a game that I'd recommend. Until then you can check their website for a free version, as they don't consider steam to be a viable source of income anyway (a mod told me that when I tried to appeal my ban).

The game seems really pointless and unfinished. Every player I've come across was as lost and confused as I was. I think the only point of it is to scavenge for food to not starve to death, which you tend to starve every hour or so lol. Glad I didn't buy it.

This map is terrible lol, omg. I got up to about level 20 in the beginner area on a beach. There's Rexes and raptors all over the place... ok.. I guess I can handle that. There's basically unlimited metal up the hill so I don't actually have to look for any resources now... lame but ok. I touch the water and it is ICE-Cold, like it's a different region lol. In a non-dedicated multiplayer server touching the water will force the tether/teleport even if they're 10 feet in front of you! Ok.. So a huge oversight. These shallow "tropical" waters, that are freezing, are also full of megladons.

So.. I build a raft since I want to get all those low level beacons around me. Seriously a raft-killing whale is spawned in this water. It barely has enough depth to move but it's here. Are you kidding me? This map might be pretty in the screenshots but there is no polish on it. Not only is it unbalanced but the beaches are incredibly plain. I think if you can cope with the crap long enough maybe the ruins are pretty or something but I can't. Skip this map for sure, try Ragnorak or something - it's wayyyy prettier and balanced!

I bought this a while back, I consider it a waste of money and something that should've just been included in the base game. I'm giving it a bad review though based on how it was originally put out there.

At the time I was in a PvP group and you couldn't use any item from this DLC unless you owned it. So in other words, anyone making a ship with this DLC's Cockpit couldn't be hijacked. I bought the DLC because of that. A couple weeks later they changed it to allow everyone to use the DLC items, you just couldn't make them. To the people that already purchased the DLC, they said thanks for supporting the devs!

Here's my "you're welcome" with a nice negative review lol. Next time offer a refund.

When the original devs had it, this game was awesome, weekly updates and tons of expectations! There was a huge modding community too. After the new devs bought the game, the weekly updates instantly stopped. Everything that was planned was scrapped, and they only focused on the dlc. The last time I played the game most of the mods didn't work and had stopped being supported. I would overall say the game was fun while it lasted and I would recommend it for that.

The orbital physics of this game is what makes it great. Calculating the delta-v to get your payload from Kerbin to some other planet, return, etc, is fun.... I never really got past Duna though (Mars equivalent) since it became rather redundant at that point. There's a lot of little annoyances in the game as well. Speeding up time can be rather... bad sometimes.

The parts that didn't work well for me, though, were the airplanes. I tried almost everything with those, I could usually get it to fly but it was so outrageously boring to do so. I spent an hour once just flying to do some stupid survey mission, it was so bad I still remember it. And the thought of a space plane was just not happening for me. It's much more fuel efficient to go straight up in the air, and I could never stick with it long enough to use a space plane to launch satellites. It's just such a waste really. And then what, fly the plane back? Taking off and flying isn't that bad, landing is hard though, there's quite a lack of instruments and radar to say the least.

I would have given this a thumbs up for sure, but I was reading other reviews that complained about spyware and EULA.

I like the programming aspect in it via Programmable Blocks. I've learned quite a bit of C Sharp messing around with this game, and how to decompile the process to see what functions and such there are. Totally unexpected and awesome feature!

As for the intended game lol - it kinda sucks. Things are really buggy and the physics are pretty bad. If you ever wanted to play a 1990's game full of bugs and glitches but want better graphics - then this is the game for you! Build a cute little ship - yup, that's about it. Once you get into large ships and elaborate builds - it gets very buggy - which the in-game people have nicknamed Clang!

The multiplayer aspect of this game is horrible. You won't be able to build any of the ships in the videos because of building limits. Yes, a building game with VERY limited building - I'm serious, it is! You get 10k PCU - for me that's a refinery and small ship. Turrets cost about 450 PCU and you'll want one for every angle... mostly cuz they can't shoot very well. Don't get me wrong they can hit a stationary target better than most of the teammates I get in PUBG, but if that thing they're shooting at is well... moving... just expect to run out of ammo before hitting it, just like normal teammates in PUBG lol. To put it into perspective, it's quite easy to take out any ship or base, regardless of turrets, just by flying up to it and sawing it apart with a brand new character.

To the griefers that love base raiding - NOT the game for you either! It's like any other base-raiding game but it's incredibly slower paced and boring. You will spend HOURS searching for a base and if you're lucky you'll MAYBE find ONE per 8 hours in multiplayer lol.

Overall, the devs have abandoned this game other than releasing more game-breaking bugs in the guise of DLC. It's very unbalanced and if you are serious about the multiplayer aspect then you'll probably want to buy 4 or 5 copies so you can keep up with the other multi-copy players that take themselves way too seriously. That's really the only option around the extreme building limits though. Or play single player or do like I do and just enjoy learning to mod.

This is an old game that's been ported to PC. It feels very dated. Most of the dialogue is still text based and any that is voiced doesn't line up with the lips, like at all. The controls are absolutely horrible. They've basically just tried making the keyboard and mouse into a controller lol. This game is ok if you use an xbox controller but definitely not for a kb and mouse.

The graphics look good for the most part but there's alot to be desired for the characters. They all do the same poses after the game, which doesn't sound like a big deal but when you've defeated some monster and everyone is doing the same animation in sync with eachother it just looks bad lol. The monsters do this too, it's like watching a dance show as you're walking past them sometimes, which really takes away from the little depth this game has to begin with.

I feel like they've targeted a very young audience. The game is constantly telling you what to do, which gets really annoying. Killing stuff is simple, and I mean really simple, even with bad controls there's no real challenge. Actually using strategy to take down a monster, like hititng it in the weak spots, is more random than anything else. When you slice a monster with a blade you hit most of it's body anyway, so why bother having weak points.

Constantly updating content, easy to rank up in MMR once you're pretty good. The ranked MMR feels really balanced, lower tiers will almost always have lower tier players which helps ALOT with learning curve. The only complaint, though it's also a balancing thing, is when I play with higher level friends we match against a team of their level - but again that really helps with balancing so that someone doesn't just get carried into higher levels. Tbh I think the rank system is one of the best out there and even though it's not the most important thing in this game it definitely shows how well made it is.
