Maybe it's for free but free games also should have some standards. This game hasn't.

It might have been a really nice game, but it isn't. I'm giving it "no" just because this game was irritating me a lot of times.

What that means?

The whole game I was waiting for something to happen and when I thought that it is starting to be interesting and had hopes for something greater... The game ended in a really poor manner.

The plot is somewhat disappointing. You go through it looking for something which should feature it amongst a lot of similar games, but you won't find it here. It's just another point and click mystery game with irritating accents like:
- places too dark to see some little piece without which you can't progress further
- going backwards and searching the same places, because you missed something... and that's happened to me some times when I was forced to search through a walkthrough to find a solution
- not skippable locations through which you must pass to go to the desired places

But those are problems of a tons of other poorly designed point and clicks, right?

I wouldn't be so disappointed if the plot wasn't that poor. You expect something more exciting and you find only a repetitive game. Pity.

5/10 and negative opinion. Sorry game. You tried.

EDIT:

Ok, nothing changes after half a year and as I see a lot of people have the same problem. Looks like developers don't give a damn about their game what is so sad. Steam should remove that game from their shop. These developers are just taking money from buyers don't mind if they have any issues with this "masterpiece". Don't waste your money.

OK, I'm done. I have no experience of a plot, graphic or anything else that game provided. Why? I can't play. When I'm trying the following issues may appear:

- black screen of death
- unable to click anything
- unable to close the game (only thing I can do is hard reset)
- experience crashing of resolution and then I'm unable to even shut down the laptop

Oh, before someone starts to be curious - my laptop is new and shiny with Windows 10 operating system. Sadly I can't make a complaint because I waited too long in hope that something will change. Such a pity.

If something will change (hopefully for better), maybe before another patch, I will edit this.

What can I say about this game...

I can't say that was good, but I also can't say that was bad. It was 50/50. I was hoping that it will be something more, but forgot it is for free. Silver Creek Falls: Chapter 1 was a prelude for something more and this "more" can be good or bad. It has its potential, but I'd rather it was published as a one game than spliting it to parts for which you must pay separately. This prelude is only a small taste, but it isn't anything you can love from the beginning to end. It was nice and that's all.

I'm giving this game "yes" only because it wasn't "no".

I love horror games as much as point and click or mystery games, but Charnel House is only point and click... in a some way. I thought that "Trilogy" is REAL Trilogy and I expected three separated games which are connected in a story way, but noo... It turned out as one, really short game divided in three parts. Horror? Don't be silly, it isn't horror at all. It isn't scary, it also isn't even spooky. Story? Someone might find it a little interesting, but I'm not amused by it. Just another indie game from those you shouldn't buy for more than 1€ or even less.

For sure it shouldn't be labelled as horror game. It is not.

If you love first Amnesia and you're looking for an equal or better sequel then... no. A Machine for Pigs isn't for you. If you are looking for a decent horror game... A Machine for Pigs isn't for you either.

The second Amnesia game is a huge disappointment. It's worse than its predessor. The majority of the world you are exploring is just a background you can't interact with it in ANY way. The monsters isn't scary at all and you won't be scared at all. The atmosphere even if spooky at the beginning (because you're suspecting something such scary as in the original) quckly started to be boring. I played this game with my husband and we were really excited about new Amnesia, because we love the first one, but we were just BORED and dropped the game for a couple of days and then... I even forgot if we finished A Machine for Pigs.

Do you love first Amensia? Then don't buy the second one. Preserve good memories, watch or play some mods and don't waste your money on that one boring, not scary at all "horror game". It isn't worth it.
