Early Access Review
this is how you honor old arcade racers. the game oozes charm and personality just from the intro video alone.
buttery smooth driving, good selection of tracks, and the soundtrack just breathes nostalgic yet so originally done.

there are still things to be desired from this game, but it's early access. i wish we could get more tracks inspired from some rarely mentioned places (like serbian mountain roads of tara, zlatibor and kopaonik) and (maybe) more toys to drive. i really hope we get different engine sounds for different cars, and i think that some of main menu music style should be during the events as well. also would like to see modding somehow introduced into the game, but its still very early for me to speak for anything of that sort.

there was the one bug i encountered and that's clipping on kenya ss2 checkpoint 2 - start of checkpoint 3 where if you turn on inner side side of the road the car will freeze in place and lose all speed.

overall, this game is very good in its early access state and i will fully support whatever the devs will introduce to us as forms of content and feedback which will surely be nothing short of positive. keep rocking guys, you got a faithful customer.

A good game, although with a lot of flaws. Single player feels artificially extended up to 16 hours of gameplay which on paper isn't bad, but most, if not all of the campaign, feels like a chore. Cops are more of a nuisance preventing you going from point A to point B.

The good part: Online is crazy fun, with it's PVP and Free Roam you will always have interactions with other racers, either driving in the game world with Linkups, or doing events. However, I would wish for devs to add AI if the speedlist lobbies in Free Roam aren't full. Since I am a grip car user, handling model is vastly improved on it but the drift physics (without the new drift pro tires on) is lackluster. Customization is also great, having so much choice with changing your car's looks is always welcome to me. Drag races are phenomenal, being in length to the point where it isn't alot nor is it too much. And of course, since Vol. 7, Drift Pro tires and its physics, are amazing. Collectibles and activities are fun to do, as I have 100% the game.

The bad part: Cops are not good, not bad, but boring. They bring no layer of depth to any event or the game world, and they annoy you constantly. Story is very cheesy, and the gameplay of story mode is pretty cumbersome. The calendar, while being good on paper, is so time consuming without any reason rather than artifically prolong the game time. The world, while being big, doesn't have any outstanding location as most of modern NFS had. It's either gray color of the town, or green and rocky hills. Nothing particualrly outstanding, but just servicable. Some particular DLC is extremely predatory as well, as the Legend Car Pack, which contained cars that were FREE in NFS Heat, you have to pay for here. And lastly, PHOTO MODE. For the love of everything that is holy, bring NFS Heat features for the photo mode in this game, I want to take cool pics.

Overall, this game is is around a 7/10. Devs are hard at work to improve things that community wants, and I'm hoping for more of that so I can stick around playing this game.
Lastly, shoutout to UNITE team for further improving this modern NFS experience, their mod is stellar.

pros: good customization and setting, graphically aged amazing

First of all, justice for Mick Gordon, nobody deserves to be treated in that manner how id Software did it to him;
Second of all, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is amazing, Probably the best modern arena shooter and it's going to stay for many years to come.

The gameplay is absolutely phenomenal. The varitety of weapons and demons in this game is pure bliss. The arena designs are top notch, which work flawlessly with double jumps and dash mechanics. This also adds up with the The Ancient Gods DLCs, which amplify the gameplay to a sweaty ass level, which is a huge plus. The character progression is also counted into unlocking secret encounters, Slayer gates, and map exploration, to which every single aspect adds a layer of depth to gameplay and its loop. The boss fights, apart from The Dark Lord, are all great. The fights test you in every aspect of the game you learned up to that moment, and will try to amp it to eleven. The best boss is probably the Gladiator. The amount of agressiveness, patience, and thinking for this fight is crazy. You would probably play this game for 500 hours and you would still want more. I haven't tried master levels yet, mostly because of my hardware limitations which are listed below with my take on graphics.

The animations for glory kills are also fantastic, giving our lovely Doomguy a handblade which makes for such creative ways to dismember the demons, and they are satisfying to pull off.

The graphics, even though I've handicapped myself by playing on a 8 year old rig, still looked pretty solid and most areas are beautiful to look at (i.e. Sentinel Prime outside areas, Exultia, the Fortress of Doom and most importantly, The World Spear), and it manages to run pretty smoothly up to 60 fps which is desirable. However, due to my limitations of VRAM (RX550 2GB lmao who is this guy), it tends to get choppy but still playable. I think I would sink hundreds of hours if I had more stable framerate,

The story tho........ it's mid. It's corny in a good way (the game makes you feel like a immortal badass which only feeds of killing demons), but also weird (TAG1 and TAG2 are at fault here). If you wanted a story of DOOM, play any other game please, there are too many exposition dumps (looking at Dr. Hayden), weird monologues (The Dark Lord, Khan Maykr, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SERAPHIM). Also why did they do my man VEGA like that???

All in all, the gameplay and its loop exceed over the scale of 10, but the story gets a passable 5 out of 10. They could've really done a better job with storywriting. But the gameplay overweighs this puny story to a point which it doesn't matter anymore. You're a badass. You're a badass killing demons. You're a badass using 15 weapons to murder everything in your path. RIP AND TEAR, UNTIL IT IS DONE.

An update to my old review! Bought a new CPU and GPU so I can play at 1080p, pouring over 100 hours and will probably pour more into this game because it just never gets boring. Finished TAG1 and TAG2 on Ultra-Nightmare and it was a blast. Yes, Samur's boss fight is simple in design but depthful in execution, The Dark Lord still feels like a glorified Marauder with 5 phases. I'm coming for the Ultra-Nightmare trophy for the Campaign and Master levels, testing and perfecting my patience and skills.

Oh and Battlemode just exists. It's nothing special with the amount of people playing Dreadknights and Revenants making your life miserable as the Slayer.

All in all, never stop ripping and tearing, because at the end of the day, the only thing they fear is YOU.
