The game is GOOD... but it's not: "Pay $70 or $80 USD to endure a poorly optimized single player game with aggressive micro transactions" GOOD. I have an i9 and a 4090 and even playing in FDH (not even 2K or 4K) there are parts that the FPS drops are hindering the experience a lot.

Trust me. Let them patch the game, maybe tone down the DLC Micro Transactions and maybe pay 50% OFF in a year or two during a sale. The game will be better and will have aged perfectly.

Great top-down tactical game, it has some minor issues on launch and some "mechanics" that could be more polished or improved (ie. stunt grenades for clearing rooms are very inconsistent or how hard it is to look inside buildings from the outside). In general it feels solid and the coop experience is very promising. I'd give it a 4.7 out of 5 stars and probably the developers & the community (yeah it seems to have great modding support!) will make it even better over time.

This game in VR is one of the best VR experiences I've ever had in my life. I can't put it into words but once your brain does the "click" the VR, the immersion, the music... everything becomes some kind of zen like experience... a flowing dance of planes, missiles, and smoking trails painted against beautiful backdrops... I don't know it's just amazing!

This review is coming from a PC gamer who prefers M&K to gamepads, that's the way I play every Dark Souls game and finally (mouse fix aside) I can say that the M&K controls on DS1 are working as intended, the native 60FPS support and most important the added benefit of password matchmaking as in DS3 is one if not the best feature of this remaster.

I'm not a PvP player I love this game mostly for its aesthetics, ambiance, PvE combat, atmosphere, level design, and story, It's not a very different experience from the original Prepare to Die edition and in my opinion, that's what makes it great.

Warning: If you have played lots of DS on the original Prepare to Die edition there's little in this remake for you but If you love DS1, feel that you still have some stuff to do or see or have never ever played a Dark Souls game, starting with this one is the best way to get into a world of darkness, sorrow and decadence while engaging in slow, measured and committed combat.

TLDR: Get it if you still feel that you might get out something out of DS1 or have never played this or any DS game, If you're a veteran of DS1, there's little here to justify the purchase.

First of all from I have to say that this is coming from a PC Player prespective and on PC, with mouse and keyboard I have to say this game is finally amazing.

The game is a great game like the DS 1 and DS 2 were, but that's up to debate, what's not up to debate is that unlike DS 1 and DS 2 finally the PC port is amazing in almost everything.

I'd like a little less restriction on the FPS caps (it's either 30 or 60) but apart from that the game feels great on mouse and keyboard, is responsive and from pvp I know that this time around I'm not at a disadvantage against gamepad players. Also, this time the game takes full advantege of the PC hardware, thus running very smoothly on a high end PC.

I won't say this is the best platform to play the game on or that M&K is the best way to play this game because that's up to the players preference but at least I can say that this time around the game is as good as It ever will be on PC.

I Edited my review because the game ended up growing onto me and the initial problems I had were solved by patching or just my perception of what the game was trying to do changed as I started playing more and more. I think the game it's one of a kind, not better than the original Deus Ex or Human Revolution but at the end I think it's a strong entry in the series (even if it is not the best one). Still I leave my original review below to show how my opinion changed, my initial problems with the game and what ended up being solved by the devs and a more distant view of what at first seemed wrong. Thanks.

It's my first review ever because it's different from many I've seen and adresses something many times overlooked.

STORY seems ok, nothing to write home about, GRAPHICS are amazing but it needs a very demanding PC and even there you might have some FPS problems.

The REAL ISSUE is that the game feels strangly unsatisfactory. The movement made me feel like I was a floating camera, like I wasn't really there and many features like AI and NPC behavior just reinforced that feel. (no matter how many tweaks to controls, blur, FOV, etc I made)

I find it very inconsistent in terms of controls, the mouse acceleration, the cover system, I can't pinpoint the exact problem but it feels wonky and unsatisfactory to move, aim, shoot, etc. I didn't feel like I was in control and flowing in the game world.

Combat feels weak, some animations of takedowns are off, bullets from most guns feel tiny and the impact it makes on enemies makes it feel gamy (the sound of the weapons did not help either).

Lip sync sucks as some facial animations.

To put it sumply the game breaks immersion a every aspect I loved the original Deus Ex and loved HR and this does not feel like those, is like a flawed aproctimation, uncanny, almost but not quite, it's weird.
