Broken story quests, ships randomly catch fire and explode, constant lagging out and losing all progress in quests, 2/10 ♥♥♥♥ game no wonder the servers are empty

After sinking a good amount of time in this game (now in act 3) I think I can provide an informed review. Keep in mind that for an early access game, it still has a lot of potential and is like an uncut gem, so please be kind to the dev because I can tell they care about the game and have already made improvements based on player feedback.

Starting off with the negative points, there are clear glaring flaws with the game play and mechanics. The player movement feels very slippery. Items collected can often be lost moving between maps, and sometimes when standing on items you will need to move away from them just to collect them again when an NPC walks close. There are some gamebreaking bugs, like being able to put infinite items into vending machines to sell, as well as being unable to continue serving at your restaurant to make money when quest givers don't make it clear to you early on that the quest will "lock" your restaurant with a bunch of requirements you don't have.

Minigames for cooking are tedious and monotonous and I find myself just turning them off with the feature. Cooking at the restaurant seems to have little payoff when you need to hire a bunch of staff demanding a high wage. I found myself doing other things like hunting and selling items rather than cooking at the restaurant, which seems counter intuitive to the point of the game. All of the NPCs are MEAN, INSUFFERABLE, and unlikable. Quest payoffs suck as well, and you don't get a lot for all the effort of backtracking you put in, especially when the NPCs are such ♥♥♥♥♥.

In spite of all these bugs and unsatisfying gameplay elements in the early stage of development, there are absolutely great parts of the game like collecting new recipes, making teas and spirits, unlocking new skills, decorating your restaurant with all sorts of different furniture, FISHING which is so relaxing and fun, and exploring the world. The art style is beautiful and I can tell the dev put a lot of thought and effort into the animation and graphics despite all the reviews complaining about this. There are a lot of details in the environment that let you know about the world itself, like the neglected, overgrown,shabby buildings mixed with neon signs and futurism. The townsfolk, although annoying and rude, are in turn a reflection of that neglected future. The environment and world are such a high point in the game they overshadow the glaring flaws and I'd love to see more of that shabby futurism mixed in with the addition of new weapon types, characters and storylines.

There is definitely a lot of work that needs to be done on the gameplay and mechanics, and I don't recommend this for people who want a more polished early access game, but I do recommend it for people who wanna support something that has a lot of potential that is gonna be an awesome game in the future. I hope the dev keeps working on this and look forward to seeing how this all turns out.

very cosy but only if you are patient and don't mind a bit of failure sometimes and imperfection. deceptively difficult

8/10 game takes away the pain of working a dead end job in a corporate inflation hell world

i remain ambivalent about dota
it contains multidues,
frens, enemies,
to reduce it to one or the other is an exercise in foolishness

this is the most comfy game
go on quests, collect poisonous rare flowres
pet the cat

got infected with psychic aids, got trapped in a poisonous underground forest inhabited by a hag, got powned by eyeball devourer creature, collected all the waifus, rejected all of them for a bear 10/10 would play again

why does this game take literally 9 years to open?
