As an avid fan of the series, I cannot recommend the game in the current state.
I will wait for a couple of weeks of patching and UI improvements before giving it another shot

Good
  • The graphics of the world! stunning (just crank up all the settings :) )
  • Improved city system, and upgrading districts. This also includes cities vs towns
  • Commander/General unit, where it's more efficient to transport army/naval units around the map

Neutral
  • Mechanism of age progression, I like the idea (just like in Humankind), but it has some quirks that needs to be solved
  • Leaders that are not tied to civilizations (e.g. Frederique the Great (prussia), leading the Rome civ)

Bad
  • User interface - it's in a terrible state
  • Limited lenses
  • Mechanisms not explained (e.g. religion conversion; or building over building from previous ages has limited/no impact)
  • No one more turn (feels unfinished)

Amazing small game that will suck you right into it..
Starting small and riding an exponential wave of tougher enemies where you find yourself ratracing to get just the right upgrades.

One of the best deck-building games I have played in the last couple of years!
It will take some proper planning and strategy to get to that OP state and crush the final boss.. just to discover you can do this on 25 increasingly more difficult modifiers. Love the art work.. and last but not least: Works great on SteamDeck

This might be the best Total War to date! Great engine, epic scale battles.. and it just seems that Warhammer is the IDEAL setting for the Total War genre. The base game offers 4 factions (Empire, Greenskins, Dwarfs, and Vampires!) and gives hours of great battles (either quest battles, multiplayer, co-op, or campaign).

The only DLC that should have been included in the base game (for free) is the Blood and Gore textures (Blood for the Blood God DLC). Although I dont like the DLC-strategy that CA, you do get some great content (Wood-elves and beastman). You can also buy the DLC's when in the sale :)

If you are a total war fan? Then this is a no-brainer, just insta-buy. If you like grand epic battles with warhammer/magic, just buy. If you like RTS/TBS hybrids, just buy.

The first thing: Endless zoom! :D yes zoom-in-zoom-out as much as you want, no minimap needed.
Stunning visuals and a good gameplay mechanics makes this games a true recommender.

You have many factions (7 or so?) with their own units and traits. Battles occur ON the world map and they are simple to understand (paper-rock-scissors principle) . You can battle the local-tribes, enemy players.. and the winter. Yes you read that right, you have to survive the winter which lasts longer and longer after the progresses.

This game is a true gem for anybody that likes turn-based-strategy games with element likes techtrees, simple combat and quests.

Simply said.. Rome II isn't a worthy successor of Rome 1.
Shallow gameplay, the worst game engine ever (warscape), patched up and still not up to any standards.

Comparing Rome 1, Medieval 2, Napoleon, and Shogun 2 to Rome II.. then Rome II is rock bottom.

Only play if you are a hardcore fan of the series

This tower defense has much more depth that the first look would give to the player. Different gems and more monsters. Nevermind the flimpsy plot, just enjoy the tower defense grind you <3

After you get wizard level 2500 it begins to grind and the fun is all gone.. although this should take around 100 hours, which makes it a very good game !

When you like Defense Grid 2 and other classic tower defense.. just instabuy and thank me later

The good:
- Fletcher!
- Kill aliens // make paths in the levels
- GFX update
- Tower-boosts + Tower-augmentations
- Competitive mode (no selling, no tower-augmentations)

The bad:
- No control tower
- No interest rate on resources
- No clear data on how the score is made up
- Command shuttle (who needs that? except for the achievement)

In short: If you like Defense Grid 1, then you will like DG2 :)
Score: 8/10

A dark atmosphere.. unclear motives.. who are you/they? and what the hell happened?

It will immerse you into a compelling story, where you want to solve all the puzzles.. and the puzzles will be are HARD!
Also the ending is one that will make you think.

Simple, ultra cheap, stay-alive, CO-OP (!!) top down shooter.

The zombies keep coming, you keep shooting :) #HadFun
