Like the best roguelikes, this gets better and better the more you play it. If you like The Oregon Trail, which you do, you'll like this nautical take on it. The dude who made this is clearly both a seafaring and history buff, and the conversations at taverns make for enjoyable reading. Word of advice for those just starting out: don't worry, fishing gets both easier and less frequently needed as you progress through journeys/deaths

I LOVE this game. It's the perfect level of difficulty for a roguelike game where as you learn the ropes you make it farther and farther every time. The aesthetic, the music, the presentation, I love everything about it. A lot of times you see games that put a lot of time/money/effort into their advertisements, but the game is meh. This game is fantastic and deserving of the high quality 'commercials' they made for it. Check it out!

THIS is the Doom I've been waiting for since Doom 2. They have managed to create a fast-pased, engaging formula for a genre... that they also originally created! The gameplay has a unique rythym to it thanks to the system of (optionally) melee killing enemies to get health pickups after weakening them with gunfire. The music is awesome, and it gets heavier as the game progresses. The boss fights are creative, which says something for a first person shooter. The story is just present enough to tell you who you are and why you're there, and if you want to read more into it you can via collectibles. After all these words, none of them manage to collectively describe what makes this game so great- it's better than the sum of its parts. Finally, the Doom I've been waiting for!!!

(I love it so much that I bought it again on PS4 so I could be more social with friends that primarily use consoles)

I love this game, even in its early-release form. It's the same exact format as the original Killing Floor, but with cool and welcome improvements throughout. I could go on about it, but basically if you liked the first one, or are looking for a game like Left 4 Dead (But better, in my opinion), look no further than Killing Floor 2!

Beyond Earth is basically a Civ V mod set in the politically correct future where Africa somehow has an interstellar space program. No matter what planet you choose to land on, they all look the same green/blue. Instead of choosing an ideaology like in Civ V, you choose one of three paths to level up to build units associated with that path. The problem is, you can level up all three, so there are no unique units that only one civilization can have- everybody is essentially the same. The only good news here is that a game of Beyond Earth is way shorter than a game with the same settings in Civ V because victories are more quickly acheived. Cannot recommend unless you love staring at dark greens and blues.

This is one of my favorite games in the Metal Slug series of 1-6 & X. If you've never played it before, prepare to be blown away by the awesome attention to detail and the supremely detailed pixel animation. To me, this is the golden standard for multiplayer arcade shoot-em-up games. Don't worry about dying a million times- there are no quarters involved here!

This game would be fun if it didn't have the mechanic of guiding a glowing ball around, while you're trying to fight off enemies. The combat is just fine, but you also have to solve puzzles and have way quicker reflexes than the casual gamer to simultaneously light torches/blow stuff up/snuff out mists. To me, it falls into the same category as Magicka, wherein it combines too much stuff into one game for it to be fun. But maybe I'm just getting crotchety and old and prefer my Gauntlet-esque games to be more like Gauntlet.

Entertaining, but you can get totally screwed very easily because everything comes down to dice rolls. It is incredibly irritating to be doing very well and get to the end only to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by BS, which happens constantly. I truly hate this game.
