It's just how I remember it, in all the best ways.
It looks great, in the sense that it looks how my rose-tinted memories imagined it to look. Some of the god portraits are obviously different, and Hathor has been entirely replaced with Sobek, but it all stylistically suits and fits right in.

The changes to gameplay all just kind of... work and feel like they belong. Some I actually had to double check that they weren't part of the original because they just made so much sense in hindsight that I was almost convinced it had just always been that way.

It's a testament to Ensemble Studios that 22 years later, the fundamental core of their game holds up so unbelievably well, and a testament to everyone involved in Retold that not only did they bring that product forward so well, but they did it with the care and respect that a product of this calibre deserved, preserving what was great, improving what was good, and fixing the few things that were rough around the edges.

Additionally the improved level editor is already proving to be a powerful and versatile tool for modders. Something that I feel many modern RTSes have been lacking.

I've been fairly unanimously positive up to this point, so I feel it's only responsible to point out some things that perhaps not everyone will be as pleased with:
* The campaign VA has been entirely re-recorded and may not necessarily be to the liking of all players. However at the time of writing, there's already a mod available via the in-game mod browser to restore the original VA if that's your preference
* Some people may not be huge fans of the updated god-portrait art style. Though there is an option to use legacy god portraits via DLC (though I personally believe this should have been free).
* There are some very minor issues with unit pathing around walls in certain situations at the time of writing, but these have already improved greatly since the original beta and I would reasonably expect them to improve further with subsequent hotfixes.

Overall, Age of Mythology was my favourite game for years, and this remake feels like everything I'd hoped it would.
Also the current price feels like a very good value amongst a sea of other games that often feel like they're consistently $10 too much.

When games advertise "play your way" and "find unique solutions to different problems", the gameplay people dream of is Baldur's Gate 3.

Kill, Talk down, Knock out, ignore entirely, side with, side against, pick up and throw, hit in the head with a wheel of cheese, all are valid options... and almost all will have different outcomes and different consequences.

Terra Nil is a very chill game about taking a dead, grey map and turning it into a beautiful lush ecosystem.
It looks great, it's just long enough to not wear out its welcome and nails the vibe that the developers were clearly aiming for.

Stellaris is a special kind of strategy game. One where as much as you can enjoy fighting for dominance over the galaxy, you can also roleplay as a singular planet of isolationist owls off in a corner of the galaxy, and have just as much fun... and just as much of a chance to win if you play your cards right.
The galaxy is vast and full of wonders indeed.

The gameplay is fun, the artstyle is great and the music is awesome; then just as everything is going well, the game absolutely obliterates you with emotional punches to the gut.

100% worth buying and playing.

I played the originals many years ago on the PS1, the remakes retain the feel and gameplay from the originals, and look how I remember the originals looking to me as a kid. The option to use the music from the originals is a much appreciated inclusion, but the remastered music is just as good.

If you *haven't* played the originals, Spyro is an excellent franchise, from the same golden era of platformers that spawned Banjo Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot and many others. The original developers went on to make Ratchet and Clank and most recently Spiderman for the PS4. So they were and remain a talented group of people.

TL;DR: Game is a lot of fun and well worth buying.

Civilization VI is an excellent successor to Civilization V. It more than adequately addresses many issues that were present in V and innovates on many of the features introduced.

Civilization VI makes many drastic changes to several of the core mechanics of the Civilization franchise, yet unlike many of the changes in Beyond Earth, the changes in VI all feel as if they have purpose, as if they were designed with the issues they were addressing already clearly identified (unlike change for changes sake in Beyond Earth).

On the aesthetics and music, it's fantastic. There were many people initially not sold on the new art style, but over time it's grown on me. It actually makes spotting units, unique tiles and other game elements much easier, while still maintaining an appropriate feel for the game.

The music is fantastic.

In conclusion, the game builds on Civ V and innovates more than enough to keep the series interesting. Most importantly, unlike Civ tradition, VI launched without missing any features from Civ V, is stable, and looks to grow into potentially the best game in the series.

At the time of writing, it's $10 for a few hours of fun. It took me about 4 hours of play to unlock all the achievements and I still have some of the in-game objectives to go.

Goat Simulator is a game that you play when you don't feel like doing anything else, one of those games where you just want to run around and do whatever, without feeling the need at any point to hunt around for obscure objectives or perform convoluted tasks.
It's a playground game, go in, do what you want until you've had your fun and then leave again. It's that kind of game that's just mindless fun for a few hours. I feel I definitely got my $10 out of it.

This game is outstanding. It looks wonderful, the music is incredible and it's a perfect sequel to Mass Effect, it fixes everything that needs to be fixed and even adds in a few new features of it's own.
As an added bonus it's going to keep you occupied for a long time. A proper play through is going to take you in excess of 30 hours, and it's inevitable that you'll go back and do it all again with different settings to see what happens.

Do yourself an enormous favour, although this game is one of the best I've seen. Don't play through it without beating Mass Effect 1 first, the game gains a whole new level of depth when you import a character, decisions and assignment outcomes all have effects in Mass Effect 2.

EDIT: I would put out a warning however that acquiring the DLC for this game is not a process that occurs through steam and can be a significant pain to complete. Whether this is fixed in the version on sale on EAs Origin, I don't know.
