Highly addictive game.
Its retro aesthetic with isometric sprite-like view complements its near infinite freedom and flexibility.
In terms of complexity it reminds me of various options classic Fallout (1 and 2) had.
Yes, Fallout and Factorio are apples and oranges, but the level of complexity and thought invested into the game is very similar.
It is something like when you only set your intelligence to 1 in Fallout and your character can only communicate with different kinds of grunting and growling.
Here it has a slightly different spin. Many small parts can create complex structures and networks and it is beautiful.

This is the best installment in the Sims franchise to date.
4th is too dumbed down and overmilked by the EA with countless minor add-ons that add up to thousands of dollars in price as you go through them.
Certainly, Sims 3 are also majorly milked by the EA with add-ons, but those are significantly fewer and each one has more content.
Even just the base game is good enough to play on its own, without any expansions.
Still an incredibly hostile behavior on EA's part to charge circa 500 USD for all expansions. I'm not going to buy them on the principle. Even if they go on sale.
Also launcher is terrible and will leave your play time meter on even after you close the main game.

What do I hate:
EA
Sims Store
Sims Store integration in the game loading screens
Sims 3 Launcher
Ridiculously overpriced expansions. Especially since it has been 14 years since game release.

What do I like:
Sims 3 the game

Giving it a thumbs down just to hurt EA's business at least a little.

UPD. I just realized that for a game from what, like 2008 it is still horribly optimized. So much so, that even modern hardware __takes time__ to load the game itself and then your save. No matter how fast your SSD I/O is and what clock speed your CPU is running. Where Half Life 2 or Portal loads in mere seconds, Sims 3 will take up to a minute. Granted, this is not an apples to apples comparison, but you get the idea.

My play time stats speak for themselves.
The game is addictive and almost infinitely replayable. Primarily because each time you may find a new dumb way to lose. Even magical teddy bear of respawn may not save you from your own poor choices.
Also "you offer to the shrine, but gain nothing".
Tons of items allow for some interesting loadouts and broken builds.
Engi is OP and I love that. Bungus Venn diagrams are essential.
Never beat the game to the end even once.
Still love to be bad at it.

I tried playing this game previously. Years ago. I do not remember why I abandoned it then.
Recently I decided to revisit it and explore what the game has to offer.
Typically when I'm playing a game I lean heavily into exploration: leaving no stone unturned and trying to explore every corner of the map.
With Tomb Raider it is pretty difficult to do. Levels feel corridor-like, limiting and constricting the exploration. That is especially so with prologue when you need to battle bad dudes in a burning building.
Maybe this is essential for a puzzle-focused game. But for example Talos Principle does not feel that claustrophobic even despite also being puzzle-focused. Even Portal despite de-facto being incredibly restrictive and devoid of exploration feels more airy and spacious.
Controls also don't feel as well thought out as they are in other games. I am finding myself mildly annoyed by the need to double-tap the space bar in order to perform a wall climb.
The plot so far is ok, but I did not get far to judge the entire story.
Eventually I decided not to force myself to finish the game just because I started it and to follow the fun.
As for graphics they are OK. I have seen games from the same period that aged significantly worse in terms of graphical fidelity (ahem FarCry 3 ahem).

I'm still making my review a positive one, since it is a good quality game and I may be biased to underappreciate it because of its genre or rather sub-genre.

Despite being 10 years old (Happy belated birthday, Intake! Yaaay), this game holds up. Its minimalistic premise and fun gameplay holds up well. I love this game. Not only it reminds me of simpler days back then, but its soundtrack is extremely addic- BE AGGRESSIVE, BE AGGRESSIVE B E A G G R E S S I V E.
Truly one of the games you hold dear through the years.

This game does not work. For me at least.
Upon launching it takes up 3GB of RAM just to display the menu and map.
After you select a mission, it bloats up to 6 GB.
I mean I wouldn't mind that if the game actually worked after consuming all those resources. But it just does not.
And god or whatever higher power you believe in forbid you click outside the game window. It will crash.
Not only the game exits, but it also somehow makes my steam client have a heart attack. I get a message saying that steam web helper crashed (this literally never happened in over 10 years of me using steam).

A low effort vomit of a game.

UPD: I managed to run it somehow and play around 10 minutes or so. Upon finishing first campaign mission I observed this low-poly masterpiece take up 6.6 GB of ram.
Music is repetitive, interface is clunky and the game itself feels generally unfinished. It's in trivial details. Unit placement cursor clipping into terrain instead of projecting onto it and things like that.
Studio's name "Noobz from Poland" is not a quirky joke. It's a warning.

This game is fine, but the physics of cash regiser minigame is just obnoxiously bad. I failed my combo several times just because an item decided to yeet itself out of the conveyor belt or drop into the basket.
Please, developers, do something. It's infuriating.

This game seems to present itself as a more serious take on Kerbal Space Program's mechanics.
And it is true. But only partially.
I have no complaints about the story so far, but the interface...
The interface makes my eyes pop out of the sockets. First of all, menu design seems to borrow its worst features from Windows XP era interface tweakers and over-the-top hacker-like glossy and techno look.
The craft editor seems chaotic and hard to control at times. The procedural parts are __somewhat__ cool, but their control lacks presicion. If I want to change the diameter of the craft (or its part), i can more or less eyeball it. Or change grid step to one centimeter and go pixel-hunting trying to set exact measurements.
Craft programming seems cool, something that I'd like to see in KSP some day.
But my main issue is still the interface. For a serious game its elements are too big, the interface itself is too dumbed down and animations are just bad. Especially the tech tree zoom-ins. Just bad.
I cannot decide whether this game is something I may recommend or not. It has its issues, but core premise is fine.

Good game to relax and cause some mayhem without having to think too hard about the plot and details. You fly, you shoot, enemies are highlighted in red so you don't get confused.
Also beautiful vast landscapes to fly or drive on.
