Recommended as a way to kill ten minutes. It's a very short game with no replayability and there's no way to turn off the funky but repetitive and rather irritating music, but it's a cute little puzzle.

This game is fun, visually appealing, and surprisingly strategic. Organising your ecosystems so that they don't conflict is an interesting challenge. A more precise player could probably have finished the normal mode faster than I did, but I don't feel any need to have done it faster - it's not that sort of game. The soundtrack is also lovely and I like the element of unlocking more tracks via tasks.

My biggest criticism (and it's not very big at all) is that I don't feel there's a lot of replay value for me, personally. I definitely feel I've got my money's worth out of a single playthrough. I could replay with different map settings (more or less mountainous, more or less water coverage) or in different modes (though sim and creative mode don't really attract me as they seem to remove the challenge aspect) but I don't feel especially drawn to.

9/10 Fun, low-key, aesthetically pleasing, but not very repeatable experience.

Lots of fun. Tricky if you have any sort of visual or audio processing problems but not necessarily unplayable.

Known bugs with the trauma kits that make them fire unreliably if at all make this game unfinishable for me. I pushed through to the final mission as well as I could but frankly it's a fatal flaw in the game that made it a trial. Also, in contrast to the other games (Dragonfall & Hong Kong), there's no established pool of characters to interact with and construct your team from, whose progress you can shape and whose characters contribute to the roleplay element of the game - almost every team build has to be done with mercenaries which means a. there was actually next to no roleplay element in this game. There's a bit of story and some cool fights but that's about it for the flavour. And b. there's a considerable tax on your nuyen in the form of having to purchase your team for every mission.

I love the Shadowrun franchise and Dragonfall and Hong Kong are excellent games if a bit clunky through age. I'd give this one a miss if I were you.

Best RPG since Mass Effect and I've sunk over 300 hours into that series, which tells you how much I think of it. Absolutely love this game. Very little bad to say about it. Some of the cut scenes have a little bit of trouble which different sizes of character, but that's bothered me for about 30 seconds out of the the 48 hours I've spent on this game. I could wish for a slightly better quest tracker, but again that's a minor issue.

Slow to get into, TERRIBLE voice acting, and somewhat unnecessarily weird combat mechanics. Overall though, I've been enjoying it. It does look and feel dated, but I think that's pretty fair given how old it is now. Interesting and difficult choices that do actually feel meaningful. A lot of the background dialogue falls into the "ye olde misogyny" category, which feels uncalled for and jarring to me, but no worse than other games of similar age really.

***SERIOUS SPOILERS AHEAD***

Okay, so, Gone Home was an enjoyable-ish two hours. Emotional story of teen angst which, gods help me, I have a soft spot for. HOWEVER, it wasn't a game.

I repeat for extra emphasis: THIS IS NOT A GAME.

It is, at best, a short story that takes a lot more effort than the average short story to 'read'. And I don't think I'd even have enjoyed it so much if so many years of fangirling hadn't made me very adept at developing headcanon as I go. A lot of the relationships between Katie and Sam and Sam and Lonnie I think was probably actually stuff I made up in my head as I went along. There is no strategy to this 'game', no challenge, nothing. It's not a game. For a while I got a reasonable amount of suspense from expecting Oscar's ghost or Katie's dismembered parents to appear, but I realised fairly early on that that wasn't going to happen.

So, yeah, I liked it but it's certainly not worth the money. 1.6 hours, and that's going slow and opening everything, and basically no replay value.

Starts out a bit slow - to my mind, the tutorial takes way longer than it needs to - and the first few levels are a bit frustrating because it's basically impossible to beat anyone who's been playing for a bit with the starter deck. The factions don't seem super-well balanced, but not cripplingly so in my opinion. Generally speaking, I find this a fun game with an interesting mix of decks and tactics available. Everyone I've spoken to in chat has been friendly and helpful. I'm enjoying it and intend to keep playing for some time.

This is one of the most addictive games I've picked up. It may not be absolutely perfect but I've had a good 15 hours' excellent fun from it so far. Well worth £7. Very much looking forward to see what else these guys come up with. ****
