Not enough of an improvement on the old game to be worth the full price. Pick it up if it's on offer, but honestly just play the first one if you want to have dino-fun. This is just more of the same.

Cool new combat mechanics over the first one so worth checking out from a game-play perspective. But did the writers all get laid off and replaced with interns? The characters are all so one dimensional - the women sound like they were written by middle age men and all the in-universe enemies just spit out tired one liners we've heard a million times. It's a real shame as the first game was written better than most superhero games - but this is a real step back that had me groaning.

So yeah, cool combat and stuff so worth picking up if there's a deal or something, but the writing is a slip back to 2010.

Absolutely terrifying and really well made. No idea how it's free, could easily have taken my money.

I genuinely squealed during the darker sections.

It is so rare to find a game as totally enthralling as Alan Wake. The characters are fleshed out and relatable and the gameplay is solid. The episodic nature is a great way of telling the story (and they all got releases *cough* HL3 *cough*)

+Fighting mechanics are interesting and refreshing, requiring you to weaken enemies with light before you kill them.
+The story is awesome, it's pretty much impossible to stop playing once you have started.
+The soundtrack isn't just brilliant but is also well implemented to fit the emotional tone of the gameplay.
+Collectables and Easter eggs make exploring the environment worthwhile.
+The voice acting is movie quality and while that may not seem like much, it really helps you immerse yourself!
+The story is just great, full of twists and turns with a satisfying conclusion.

-After a while some of the same enemies become a little repetitive
-The occasional graphical glitch can be a slight bother

Overall, 9.5/10. One of my favourite games and well worth checking out!
