People complaining about the "straight" title are exactly the type of people that deserve to be upset by this sort of thing. Grow up, quite literally. Hope they add more species in the future

"Slay the Spire" But a mihoyo-inspired Gacha kinda works, however as it stands it seems like it's just a bit of a collect-a-thon regarding the characters. I wish I could recommend this game more but the Chat GPT translation of the chinese is really, really bad. It gets hard to keep track of characters when they have basically got "All pronouns" and the plot, while follow-able, has dramatic moments taken away by a shoddy translation. I feel like this will get fixed, but in the long run, the main draw of playing Slay the Spire is that the four characters in that game, have wildly different playstyles and many builds you can run.
Morimens is somewhat the opposite. You have very strict playstyles limited to your characters, and that means a lot of the long term enjoyment of the combat is somewhat locked behind a gacha system.

I have to edit my review because it's come to my attention that the limited character had AI work done to them, or in the billibilli trailer there was AI imagery, and I feel like the design could've been AI. I find this disgusting and repulsive, and if Yostar wants to use AI, I can only condemn that. For shame.

They broke mods, thus breaking multiplayer, and it's pretty annoying having more than one friend who wants to play rounds.

There's no reason a 60 dollar game needs a cash shop, a battle pass and a questionable amount of DRM

Unfortunately, appears to be poorly optimized, heavy framerate issues on my microsoft surface.

It's the way of playing Risk of Rain, however, some of the sprite replacements aren't great, the maps being visually busier isn't great, the animated trailer isn't great and the removal of a lot of mystery, whimsy and gravitas from the lore/setting/themes to be replaced with marketable gearbox-esque content is sad. It is also very sad that Gearbox is making a survivors/gacha game using the IP. I cherish Risk of Rain and it's not making me happy seeing what it's become over the course of 10 mostly good years.

I feel sorry for people who didn't get to experience pre-gearbox RoR and RoR2.

Warframe was a game I loved, I lived and breathed it. It's sole redeeming factor in 2023 is it's paymodel (for everything but Rivens, arbitrary riven limit is cringe.). Let it be known that I never bought a single plat, yet through clever marketing I managed to buy all the deluxe skins that existed at the time, and lots and lots of various things, because the market is great and it has great regional pricing.
Warframe once genuinely had a lot of good lore and interesting immersive content...

Around the launch of the initial Fortuna, I realised that content had rapidly become stale and preformative, barely catering to the core playerbase of high mastery high skill players who enjoyed multiplayer content. The controversial removal (without retuning nor readding MMO content to a MMO) of Raids was one thing, however, replacing it with the formulaic and tiresome Eidolons was a significant downgrade, basically replacing a social activity with what was as braindead as XP farming on draco or wherever the current farm is, it was a decision purely made by people who don't care, nor have any communication with the players that made Warframe what it is, which means I can't ever possibly recommend getting into it for anyone.

For clarity's sake, the amount of hours I have might seem dramatic, but was even greater than this, clocking in at around 2k using the ingame checker, I had been experiencing bugs with the steam client so the hours weren't logged. I doubt that anyone would suddenly quit warframe, or not get into it through one review, but I hope it doesn't fall on deaf ears.

Since then, there's been nothing of note, adding constant new frames that are either powercreeping old ones or just totally bloated is a poor mans excuse for interesting content, I had every primed weapon and frame (excluding excal.) at one point, and even then I was eager to grind for more when the lore was good and I had hopes for the game. There has been a significant removal from the initial setting to the point where the outstanding mythos has been nearly 100% changed, and the themes that made this game INTERESTING have been wiped out, leaving us with a modern-star-wars esque slopfest of mediocre gameplay and stat sticks.

All the melee weapons started to feel very "mash E to swing" (*even the ones that are guns), the interesting parkour is severely limited by horribly open world environments and the total inverse - extreme hallways. Even with the maps being remade, and graphics (which are good, don't get me wrong, visually Warframe still holds together and the amount of customization is phenomenal, although I wish colours didn't cost money.) the game is basically little more than popcorn as it currently stands.

While Warframe is significantly better than the MMORPGS of the early 2000's that still retain popularity, it is by no means a good MMO (Does any MMO have only 4 player co-op?) and significantly needs to take steps to revert itself back to the pure form it once had.

If you're looking for alternatives, I think warframe's continued existence solely relies on there being nothing 'better' than this 5/10 game, which sucks. If you are thinking of the Destiny series, please stop thinking about those miserable cashgrabs made by a studio that was also once great.

Also - There is literally no PVP, this game lies, it tricks you into thinking there's PVP gamemodes but they're all the videogame equivalent to ghost towns.

One of the fundamentally worst ways of making a continuation of a studio's track record, going from one of the most lauded and respected names in gaming for making Titanfall to being one of the most reviled, with an utterly soulless cashgrab of a videogame. Do not be fooled by the high production smoke and mirrors, because not a single art asset nor piece of music nor sound nor game design is original, inspired, tasteful or even interesting. Apex Legends serves as a game that exists purely to cater to people who treat videogames like little more than vehicles for esports while playing lip service to what can only be described as preformative virtue signalling. Apex legends is the Overwatch of battle royale games, which is a feat considering how polluted the whole genre is with excessive microtransactions, battlepasses and ranked systems that literally exist to draw as much viewer retention as possible rather than any merit-able gameplay.

This is very much the type of game people will go "Oh yeah, that existed" when it's gone. There will be no attachment, no joy, and no soul behind it.

It is said that the lowest circle of Hell is saved for betrayers, at least, according to my knowledge of Dante's Inferno. What can be said of a whole studio that betrayed a massive, loyal fanbase? All their hopes, expectations and dreams crushed into this trash.
