Here's a few non-game recommendations for your inner geek:

- Hal Spacejock [spacejock.com.au], a book series by Simon Haynes . It's a satirical, intra-galactic romp through space! I really recommend checking out this series, along with Simon's other books and free software [spacejock.com]!

- Camlann Medieval Village [camlann.org]. It's a Living History Project themed on a simple medieval English village, anno. 1376, located outside Carnation, Washington USA. The Camlann Medieval Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 charity organization.

- And... my favorite ISP, Eskimo North [eskimo.com], formed out of the ashes of prirate radio as a dial-up BBS in 1982, it is a full service Internet, shell and Web service provider that has for decades been a staple of the tech scene in the Seattle area since the very beginning.
