I bought this mainly for Stranger Of Sword City Revisited, and while I do enjoy that game quite a bit, this is a horrible port. What makes this baffling is the fact that the previous version of this game is still up and is a fine port. If they never fix this but you're interested in these games, wait for a steep sale or just buy the OG version of Stranger Of Sword City. If they do fix this, then I'd say it'll be worth buying at whatever price it's at.

This is definitely a conditional recommendation, cause this game probably doesn't have much to offer you unless you're looking for a very specific experience. I've always wanted a Souls-like game with a bigger focus on puzzle solving and exploration than bosses. This doesn't quite get there, but it's closer than anything else I've played, game's got a lot of clever puzzles that were pretty fun to figure out. Unfortunately the combat and RPG mechanics aren't too good.

I beat the game by age 36, so I didn't get to see if the perks you acquired after the first two were very interesting, but the two I did see were very basic and didn't change the gameplay as much as I was thinking they would based on the advertising. It's just stuff like "increased evade window" or "deal more damage". It also feels like your options are very limited when it comes to actually fighting, everything feels like it only has one way of beating it so you end up getting into pretty repetitive motions very soon in the game. The feel of the game does change when you get the very last agility weapon though, and I think the game would've been much better if you were just normally that fast with everything and not just that.

The story was also just decent. Coming from someone who hasn't played a whole lot of Remnant: From The Ashes, this doesn't really feel like it stands on its own. Definitely feels like I would appreciate it more if I had completed that game first, so I would also keep that in mind when looking at this game.

So basically, I can only recommend this game if you're desperate for a relatively slow paced Souls-like game with a puzzle focus, or you want a Souls-like game you can complete in just a few sittings. (Took me 13 hours to beat it and unlock nearly everything)

Doing this for the Steam Awards badge. It's a fun side-scrolling action game that gives me Monster Hunter vibes in terms of its format. Each character plays differently and adds some good variety to the game, I've had a good time with it so far.

This feels like it has the potential to be a good open world action game, but tons of technical issues are keeping that from happening. Frame rate is one of them, I'm playing at 1800p with a 1070 and I'm getting a choppy 30 fps with a mixture of medium and low settings. My biggest issue is the input delay. No matter what you're using, controller or keyboard and mouse, there's this terrible input delay that makes the game feel absolutely horrible to play. I'd say wait until the game is completely fixed up before even considering purchasing it. Also, I don't see it on the steam page yet but they are planning on introducing microtransactions to the game, and there already are lootboxes in the form of "CUBE Tickets", so that's something else to be aware of before making a decision.

TL;DR: Open world action RPG that has fun gameplay and interesting mechanics but is extremely glitchy, wait for it to be finished.

Light on features but definitely fun in its current state. Love the calm, soothing music playing for a game that gets pretty hectic pretty fast. Definitely give it a shot if you enjoy these sort of strategic time management games.

I'm only doing this for the Steam Awards badge but yeah, this is a game I enjoy a lot and if you're looking for an open world RPG with dynamic combat and a story that's not particularly good, but goes absolutely wild towards the end, this might be what you're looking for.


I'd give my left nut for an english localization of Dragon's Dogma Online, or better yet, a sequel to this.

One of my favorite games of 2016. Great art, music that spans multiple genres, engaging gameplay, and an interesting world and story. If you enjoyed Hotline Miami, this basically feels like a side scrolling version of that. It's got that same style of gameplay that's almost a combination of a puzzle game and an action game that is easy to learn but tough to master. There's something in this game for everyone, and I highly recommend picking it up.

The single player isn't very good, the core gameplay has been done better in previous AND future CoD installments, and it runs horribly, locking into an infinite loading loop in between missions.

It was a pretty fun game when it wasn't crashing. But that's just it, it crashed much too often. I tried lowering my graphics setting, verifying the cache, running it in compatibility mode and none of it prevented it from crashing.
