I never thought a video game could have such a profound impact on my family life, but "Devour" managed to do just that. As a married father (36M) of two, my wife (35F) and I were going through a challenging period, struggling to find activities that would help us reconnect and bond as a family. "Devour" turned out to be the unexpected savior of our marriage and brought us closer together in ways we could never have imagined.

"Devour" is a co-op horror survival game designed for 1-4 players. The premise is simple: players must work together to stop possessed cultists before they drag you to hell. While it might seem like an odd choice for a family activity, it turned out to be the perfect solution to our problems.

First and foremost, "Devour" allowed us to rediscover the joy of teamwork. In the game, communication and collaboration are essential to surviving the relentless onslaught of demonic forces. It forced my wife and me to put our differences aside and work together toward a common goal. As we strategized, delegated tasks, and relied on each other's strengths, we found ourselves growing closer with every successful mission.

Additionally, "Devour" provided a safe and controlled environment for us to experience fear and excitement together. The tension and jump scares in the game gave us an adrenaline rush unlike anything else. The shared fear and laughter we experienced while playing helped us break down emotional barriers and rekindle our sense of fun.

Even our two kids (5M, 6F), who initially weren't interested in video games, were drawn into the experience. We played as a family unit, with each member having a role and responsibility. The game not only improved our communication but also taught our children the value of teamwork and problem-solving.

Ultimately, "Devour" acted as a catalyst for change in our family dynamics. It encouraged open communication, promoted teamwork, and reignited the spark that had been dimming in our marriage. While it may seem unconventional, this horror game became a lifeline for our family, saving our marriage and strengthening the bond between us all. If you're looking for a unique way to bring your family closer together while also enjoying some spine-tingling horror, "Devour" is the game that can make it happen.
