despite everything it's actually a pretty decent game, i would almost say good game.
it just doesn't live up to all the hype and build up that it came with ! so i'd say to experience the game without any expectations !

Having sunk quite a considerable time into this game.
If you have any respect for yourself, find something more productive to do rather than dump it into a game that not even the devs care about.

As expected of Yoko Taro and Keiichi Okabe, Nier RepliCant delivers a stellar story and the soundtrack was amazing.
My gripes with the game mostly stems from the very basic clunky combat system(you can literally just use 1 weapon your entire playthrough, difficulty just changes bosses to be health sponges). You can really feel the age of the game despite the fact that it's a "version up" in Yoko Taro's words.

Edit: PC port is broken(again), game physic tied to framerate. Use Nvidia control panel to lock the game to 60fps. at 120+fps my character was literally sanic.


I personally feel that Nier: Automata was alot better, from the combat system to the story, character development, how they propose philosophical ideals and their stand on it. Even boss designs were better; for example Simone, the presentation of the boss as a character and how the church bells in the soundtrack synced with her attacks - which contrast the bosses of Replicant who hardly have any character development, they exist solely for you to kill them, nothing more can be learned about them from them.
Nier Automata was a really amazing stellar game which may have caused me to have expected something as mind blowing as that(i cried when i got the true ending). The game was better at making you emotionally invested in a character.


Nonetheless i believe that you should still give Nier Replicant a shot ! You'll enjoy it ! And if you haven't played Nier Automata, you HAVE to play it; Thicc android thighs to existential crisis.

If i could choose to die; i want to die with 2B on top of me and her hands on my throat, squeezing as hard as she can.

You have to play this game.
