Every now and then I think to myself, why don't I give this game another try?
Level 1 - 4: This game is fun! Why do I always quit after a while?
Level 5 - beyond: Oh... That's why...

This is just a remind to my future self: There's no balance after level 5, stop wasting time.

The game isn't perfect, it has its issues, but I'm giving thumbs up after a few hours of playing, mostly because those annoying things can be fixed with a patch. I loved the art, deck variety, tracing your path based on cards instead of maps, and gameplay. Some features like card removal would be great. Also, it's a bit weird if you run out of gas, you're dead, 'Crap! Out of gas... Well, I should kill myself!' Health/Sanity punishment would make more sense. Aside from those little issues, it's a solid card game with a lot of fun.

It's easy to say that DE dropped the ball badly. I played this one for almost two hours and I'm having fun and wishing I didn't have work to do, to play more. I played Soulframe for about the same time and gosh... I don't want to get back to that pretentious thing. I get that many people are angry about what happened, but this feeling should be towards DE and not Airship Syndicate, or this game.

Now about this game: This game has everything I like about MMO but without the players, which (at least for me) makes it even better: The story, character building, items, exploration, and dungeon crawling. I want to see more, see the world expanding, more wayfinders, and more quests. I hope they have success and keep working on more content for this game, which by now it's already good and worth the price. If you like the previous AS games (Battle Chasers, Darksiders Genesis, Ruined King) you will probably enjoy this one.

Usually, I like to play the game a bit more before writing something about it, but I find it unfair this game has mixed reviews. I'm sorry for everyone who didn't get the MMO and paid more for it, but you're blaming the wrong side.

Got it on full price on early access. The game is great! A few things:

- It does have a few bugs like 99% of every indie release (and AAA).
- People will call it StS Clone, but it's not. The game has its own identity and different replayability. It's a solo battle card game with a story.
- It's a work of love made by a passionate team (just read their weekly posts to see what I'm talking about).
- They animated pretty much everything! Pay attention to the scenario's details.
- The downside? I can't kill the last boss, but I suck on every game I play, still, I'm having a lot of fun.

The developer should spend more time working on this stale game than getting into cultural fights on Twitter.

Things to consider:
- I haven't played the original.
- I tried the demo and bought it on release.
- Love the theme, style, and everything about it.
- A.I. is a bit stupid, but I'm not too smart, so I'm having fun.
- Every match lasts hours (multiplayer is probably longer).

Just saying... You can have your own ape army!
