Still using this years later. Mostly for multi-monitor settings and hotkeys.

Great couch co-op experience! Played through the story mode in one sitting and had a blast. Story was entertaining and had us laughing out loud throughout the play-through. Poor little Timmy. Will definitely be roping more people into endless mode in the future.

Early Access Review
I've tried a handful of other Vampire Survivor-likes, and this is the most enjoyable one so far. The old school Diablo influence is really great and helps set itself apart from the rest.

I do agree that is has some pacing issues, but the overall package really is quite good. If it grabs you, there is a lot to enjoy here. I would have enjoyed the game more if it's main focus was the combat, but find the puzzles bearable and the story actually kind of interesting, which is rare.

I got about 12 hours into my first play through before I moved on to something else, and just decided to give it another go on the Steamdeck, which this game plays perfectly on.

The game is fun!

Has a unique look which at first glance seems odd, with the untextured enemies and weapons, but the modeling and lighting make it all come together. And it makes sense since they are presumably all robots and metal. The art style is cohesive and doesn't feel like an asset store flip.

And it just feels great. The movement and shooting are so smooth and everything just feels right. I think I would prefer a bit more punch to the weapons with a little beefier sound, but it's not something that detracts from the game, unlike say, HL2's pistol.

The only real downside is the overall limited scope. The main mode is 30 waves in one decently sized map with 3 or 4 bosses. The two Endless mode maps definitely add some extended life to the game, and I will be chasing achievements to give my runs some more purpose, but with some roguelike elements and/or a progression system this would easily have been a "forever game" that I keep returning to for a long long time.

Even so, I can see myself returning for quite a while. It's not often you find those games that scratch that fun, fast, feels great action itch.

Will definitely be keeping an eye on this developer.

This game feels like it could have released on the original Gameboy and yet it still feels fresh today.

Really magical game. Has a sense of discovery that I haven't felt since Dark Souls 1, and a long time before that. The in game manual is a fun mechanic that may be more adored by people who remember physical game manuals, but I think it can be appreciated even if you don't. While Tunic is a tribute to many nostalgic games, it doesn't rely on emulating them too much, and takes plenty of inspiration from modern games and mechanics as well. It looks and sounds beautiful as well. I thought I needed an RTX 9000 to get lighting like this, but I guess not!
