Story:
Forgetable story, some writing is pretty terrible on the characters, and very predictable most of the time, the main villain also feels like hes a bootleg Far Cry villain. Dont buy it for the story! The Following DLC story starts of promosing and has probably like 2 interesting characters, but it still ends up being pretty forgettable.

Gameplay:
Fun to hack up some zombies, combat starts out as a bit of a grind when you have ♥♥♥♥ weapons, but when you get some late game weapons and can 1 pop the zombies it makes you feel very powerful! Parkour is fun to get around! and the progression is pretty good with some nice skill trees and the with the crafting you can make some cool weapons. I played the whole game in 2 player co-op and had some fun times! but without co-op I dont know how far through the game I wouldve gotten.

At night time it becomes pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but double skill points means there is a reason to go out, just wish the volatile zombies wouldnt infinitely spawn because they ♥♥♥♥ you up. More of a reason to hunt those down would be good! The infinitely spawning zombies during day can be pretty annoying as well when you get swarmed with runners and grabbed constantly. Being knocked down constantly by some of the bigger guys was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying too, more enemy types would be good for Dying Light 2, without the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying parts where you lose control of your character.

The missions are also for the most part pretty ♥♥♥♥, 95% fetch quests where the main character is a yes man and does everyones chores constantly. Gets very tedious and becomes a grind where youre just running around the map for long periods of time grabbing ♥♥♥♥ for people. Still fun to run around though.

The world is pretty good, some nice areas to explore like the bridge! wish there was more areas like this or having more varied and diverse zones within the map would have been good. Only did 1 quarantine zone and it was alright, im sure the other ones would been fun! Some more reasons to explore would be good. The Following DLC world was pretty good and changed it up a bit, the cars were really fun! and fun to upgrade!

Didnt get heaps late game, was only around level 17 in most skill trees but im sure there is some cool secrets and stuff to do later, but I dont really see a point to keep playing when most of the quests are boring as ♥♥♥♥ fetch quests.

Multiplayer invasion is intense and fun at first but can be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying so I turned it off after a couple times. Probably more fun when you've finished the story and gotten some better loot.

Visuals/Port:
Game looks pretty average, from 2015 but nothing special really. Art style is kind of weird but I cant really say why, something about it is just not appealing, looks alright for the most part though. Some stuttering at times, not heaps often though.

Some nice animations for killing the zombies! The big guys only have 1 animation when you kill them though which could be better.

Verdict:

Only played the main game and Following DLC so far, unsure whether ill jump back in and play more! but was pretty fun for the most part, gameplay was probably the best thing, but still needs some work.

6.5/10 but only in co-op! cant speak for solo but it wouldnt be as fun for sure! and would get very tedious and grindy!
