CS:GO Review
This used to be my favorite game. I have the best memories going to a store and buying the CD-version of CS 1.6 at the time... I could not wait to rush home and install it on my machine. Needless to say: I had played before (who has not yet played CS and dare call him/herself a gamer?), but this was my first real shooter, as my mother did not like guns and violence. Damn I sucked so hard, but I enjoyed spending the time to get to know the mechanics and ended up being one of the best players in my class. We played all the time... some games during school (informatics class) then rushing home and playing some more. I was hooked...

When CS GO came out I did not believe it could live up to my expectations... I mean I was a true 1.6 player and not one of those filthy casual silver surfers who thought that Source was an actual game. However, some guys at my university got me playing and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I customized my config and it felt even better. I got better again. I rose in the ranks. I learned smokes. I invented strats. I rented a server. I loved this game.

I always said that I need to leave this game, which has become the nemesis of any deadline I should have kept in university when AK/M4 are patched. The day came and I hated it. I felt more and more aspects of the game were bad. Aspects, which were only meant to improve the game for the players who liked it. Thinking about it: prime matchmaking felt like a good idea. Not letting players with varying skill groups party up unless they build up a full team felt somewhat reasonable. I am sad to say I have grown to hate CS. All those measures combined make this game simply less and less fun and are apparently useless in ridding ourselves of the cheaters those measures were first introduced against while making it difficult for everyone to have fun.

However, there comes a point in time, when one has to think back and weigh the good memories and the annoying organizational effort that came up with anti cheat measures that made this game an almost unplayable mess, as people have more and more to do in their lifes. This is why I sadly have come from "I love CS, another round!!!" to "Do we have 5 people? Who has the time? Why even bother?". On the other hand... maybe it has become better? Maybe I still got some skills? Maybe I can still bhop? Maybe I can 360-noscope-AWP-headshot someone again? Maybe I can relax a bit on a surf map? AAAH ♥♥♥♥ it, let's play a few rounds... I guess some things in this world never change... Like the devs not giving a ♥♥♥♥ about the game that really made them big...
