A fun little dip into an Old Western style game. It's got a little bit of everything: Adventure, Story, Crafting and base building with a fun style and setting that keeps you engaged.

This game is a FAR simpler game than something more intricate like GearCity. If you want a light weight, fast moving abstracted experience, this will likely do the trick for you. If you want something crunchy and in depth, this one might be a bit too shallow, relative to other choices on the market. For the price though, it's not a bad choice.

If you like card games, this will be right up your alley. With a mixture of the evolution games and a nice dose of Cultist Simulator, Stacklands lets you run your own little colony. Harvest food and resources, improve your village, and guard against enemies as you build a brighter future for your minions! Keep in mind, it's nowhere near as long or complex as the afore mentioned Cultist Simulator, but for the price, it's hard to beat.

OpenTTD, the basically open source effort to replicate the grand daddy of all these transportation games, Transport Tycoon and it is indeed a game, and it does what it does well. Voxel Tycoon owes a lot of what it does to what TTD did way back in the day, but we have come a long way since then.

I have been playing VT since it was in early alpha over on Itch.io, and am happy it's finally over here on Steam. It has come a long way, and by looking at their roadmap page, you can see where they still want to go with it.

One unique feature that VT has over TTD is you can actually ride 1st person in your vehicles. It's a useful feature if you want to put signals inside your tunnels.

One feature VT has over Transports is it's far more playable because the UI is cleaner.

Also, I think VT looks better than both TTD and Transports.

The one thing I actually don't care for is the region unlocking system in VT, but it's only a minor bother, not a showstopper.

One feature VT has over both is the grid fidelity. In TTD and Transports, one road or train block fills one grid square in the game. In VT, a train track is two grids wide and a road is three wide. It makes for more interesting building options, and once things like curved bridges are implemented, it will open up all sorts of clever over/under routing solutions.

If you're looking for a fully fleshed out experience with all the features in place plus a fully developed Modding community, then put this on your Wishlist and wait for it to go into Release. If you don't mind some features not being in place yet but like the premise, and a workshop that doesn't quite have the count Rimworld does, then go ahead and jump in and enjoy the ride with the rest of us.

Did you like Minecraft but feel like there wasn't much of a point? Do you like tower defense games? While this game still has some development left before it's fully baked, it has the bones of a solid game. The devs are active and updates are regular. Pick it up and support a team that deserves it.

If you're old enough to remember the originals, know that this is a faithful and well done update. If you're interested in seeing a very well made example of video game history, look no further.

Journey into the depths of Skara Brae, learn about why there are no people out on the streets and engage in the mass slaughter of a variety of enemies who would thwart your quest.

For an unfinished game, this one has the bones to be something great. There are a number of games on the market or in Early Access that do similar things, but this one takes the unique angle of colonists trying to work together to survive on a deserted island, almost like that show that started with a 3 hour tour, but then taking it past the Industrial Revolution to live a life of luxury.

In my short time, I saw no crashes or major bugs. The UI could maybe use a bit of work and obviously the content needs to be filled in, but once that's all sorted out, this will easily be worth the full asking price.

On it's surface, you might think "just another Dwarf Fortress inspired colony manager", and you'd be forgiven for such a view upon initial inspection. However, largely due to the vast user content community, Rimworld has taken on a life of its own.

Do you want to play with Anime style robots and power rifles, or, would you rather play a gritty medieval affair where the most complex weapon is a longbow? Do you Like Star Wars? Yea, that’s there. Want realistic bullet trajectories? Sure, you can have that too. With the sheer volume of high quality mods available for this game, you can have as complex or simple of an experience as you like, from a gentle base builder all the way up to a total chaos, you’re probably going to die bloodbath. Rimworld has it all.

As for the interface, it is as initially serviceable as it is moddable. If there’s any aspect of the interface you don’t like, there’s probably a mod to tweak or change it, and if there’s not, it’s a great opportunity to write your own.

If you have ever played any top down style base or colony management games and liked them even a little, give this one a try. You’ll be happy you did.

If you ever wondered what it would look like to strap a simple on the surface, but deeply interesting game on top of the Scratch programming language, look no further that Autonauts. Don't let the cute overlay fool you. There's a lot going on with this game. If you've ever wanted to learn the basics of programming, there's not much else I can think of that presents it in a more fun and entertaining guise.

This game isn't even finished as of this writing and already it's outstanding. The development team is working very hard and are frequently releasing updates and fixes. Their dedication and passion shows, and i can easily see myself spending many more hours with this game.

If you were a fan of the far earlier Dungeon Keeper games, you're going to love this one. The humor is a touch more overt and maybe a tad forced, but it's in general well within keeping with the theme. The gameplay controls are a fairly standard RTS affair. The visuals are detailed enough for what you're doing, though I would have liked to see some better foot to ground synchronization, especially from your prime hench-units. The sound is overall pretty good, though the voice acting seems like they were trying for over the top but went a tiny bit too far. It's thematic, but a touch corny.

Overall, this is a fun game and I highly recommend it.
