I wont defend the price. It does feel like a low-budget game but if you get a nice discount and don't mind that indie feel then i think its worth a shot. I found the platforming quite satisfying, there is a bit of jank here and there but its mostly fun. The stealth system is very basic but there isn't many stealth-heavy levels so i didn't mind it.

I think the story is one of the stronger aspects of the game. Not necessarily the main plot, but i did enjoy the Smeagol/Gollum interactions both with himself and others. It is a sad story though (i did both endings). I couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards poor old Smeagol, doubly so because of his unfortunate character model.

As good as or better than the first one. Lots of interesting maps and bosses. It feels more difficult than the first game. The only performance issues i had were fixed in the hotfix 👍

2 things i do not like:

- What happened to armour synergy bonuses? Unless i am being blind they are gone now. Feels like there is not much variance in armour anymore outside of visuals and seemingly minor stat differences.

- Trait cap. 60 seems a bit low to me? I had already reached that about half way through the story. In contrast to remnant 1 where i still never maxed my character after 200+ hours.

Interesting and fun game. Thanks to the developers. I did experience a few bugs but it did not detract from the overall enjoyable experience. The roadmap looks promising.

Very enjoyable. Completing the game is easy enough, but if you are like me you will want to get 100% (and beyond) efficiency in every level and that's when it becomes more challenging. Some basic ASM knowledge is probably required and takes planning and innovation to achieve in many of the levels.

I'll soon have spent £20 just on buying blood for total war games. If you buy it for 1 game, it should be transferred to all others. Lets not pretend this isn't just a cashgrab.

So far so good, interesting factions, nice campaign map. There's definitely faction diversity which allows for different play styles. Very interesting period of history too. Another quality DLC by CA.

After playing a few more hours, i think this will be my favourite campaign DLC for Rome II. Both Desert Kingdoms and this DLC are both superb, if CA continue making DLCs for Rome II like this, i will buy forever!

I'm NOT a fan of the ancestral update though. Secessions needs tweaking, really takes the fun out of the game having one every 10 turns.

It's a well made DLC. I really enjoyed the mini-campaign and the scenario and i'm excited to play around with the new tanks and armament options. The FLC is certainly welcome too. I would recommend to buy the bundle, as collectively the DLCs offer a fair amount.

As a huge Rome II fan, this new content so long after release i find to be amazing. Would be more than happy if CA continued to release high quality content for R2. Not entirely sure where they would expand next though.

There are four new factions, each have unique rosters and aren't just copied and pasted from different factions. I can't comment on balancing yet, but the units do look really good (aesthetically). The faction perks and rosters offer some interesting roleplay opportunities, as well as some interesting playstyles. Currently playing as Saba, and so far i am impressed with the faction. Also happy to see that CA wrote the descriptions for each/most of the units - i love reading these. The building trees are very similar to the eastern cultures (e.g. armenia) but there are some unique buildings.

The Free-LC which fixes tonnes of bugs and introduces some new content is also welcome, but does not influence this Review. The DLC imo is worth it - adds potentially 50+ hours if you complete each campaign.

I'm so happy CA revisited Rome II with this update. The faceless bugs are down to users not opting out the beta before trying to play, not a fault of the game.
