Arrowhead managed to take the recipe from the first game and translate that to a third person shooter flawlessly. The gameplay loop is varied and engaging. The two factions (hopefully more to come) present completely different enemies that you need to adapt your playstyle to combat. The gunplay feels great and features a wide variety of weapons to play around with. The premium currency used to purchase the monthly battlepacks can be earned by playing the game normally. There's definitely still some bugs that can sour the experience, like the evac dropship taking off immediately after the first player hops on, leaving the rest of the players behind, but for the most part the bugs get overshadowed by the enjoyable gameplay. Overall, just a great recipe for a game that's built to last a long time and a dev team that's committed to doing what's best for the playerbase despite their shareholder-pleasing, MBA-grad overlords over at SONY.
