Phenomenal game, an especially fitting couples-game. We were so sad when it concluded, it was honestly an amazing experience. The settings constantly change, I can't name how many different scenery was present in the different chapters throughout the game. Not only does the location change, but so does the gameplay, it's innovative every time and it really feels like the devs put hard work on this game and nothing is left unfinished/unsatisfying.

The game is alive.
The scenery is expansive and beautiful, it blooms in the background and you can always take a minute in the game to look around and truly appreciate it. It's breathtaking, and consistent even with major changes in how terrain looks. It ranges from flatland, to rocky-mountainous regions, to wide rivers..

Terrain also poses challenges in how you will get around from place to place delivering your cargo. Deep rivers will require the use of a ladder unless you want to possibly float downstream along with your delivery. Wider rivers require the use of a bridge... The rough terrain necessitates the use of such equipment, and it is immersive.

The online aspect is engaging, despite not actually being able to be there with other players real-time. It's always fun to find a bridge built for exactly where I want to go, or a generator, or even a timefall shelter. It's even more addicting to build and receive likes from other players.

The game is an adventure. The setting constantly changes. You constantly find yourself at war with the environment, with the BTs, with the MULEs who constantly want to snatch your cargo. DEATH STRANDING can be bizarre at times with its story, but not so much so that it would completely throw you off. You find yourself theorizing and wanting to find out what everything means and clear up the obscurity of everything. I'm not even close to being done with the game yet, but I felt I needed to write this review because I am thoroughly enjoying it. Recommend.

EDIT: I finished the game, and holy wow is it amazing. The snow areas offer so much challenge, breathtaking scenery, and the way player's structures help you maneuver that whole setting is really fun to experience. The ending was a bit drawn out, I feel, but I loved it. The story is still foggy for me, in some parts, but I understand most of it now. I absolutely recommend.

Very buggy and crashes often at the moment, but it is a really enjoyable game from the perspective of someone completely new to the Mount and Blade series but a fan of medieval history.

If I tried to relate this game to other games I have played, then I personally think that it plays like a smaller-scale Europa Universalis IV in the fictional continent of Calradia--but I get to witness battles and lead soldiers to war like Total War in a way. However--you can also trade; join different kingdoms; make your own kingdom; participate in pretty fun tournaments; marry; hire companions; and lead battles that can range from pretty mild to very exciting and some of astronomical proportions of belligerents.

Right now it is in an early access state, which means it has a lot of prospect for new features and mechanics, I am hyped to see how TaleWorlds is going to shape this game into a fully-fledged Mount and Blade game--since this is my first time playing one. Really good, overall!
