First, I want to say this is NOT a bad game. Embark has poured a lot of love and care into this game, trying things a little differently, and I can appreciate the incredibly agile development to a competitive title. For that, I understand the game's appeal from the perspective of its development.

That being said, I personally do not enjoy this game. I was introduced to this game because a friend of mine really enjoys it. And to be honest, they're the only reason why I bother playing this. This game is tailored for that esport competitive crowd. This game made me realize I enjoy playing a lot more casually.

Even in what should be more casual game modes, such as the Quick Cash, Bank It, and the more recent Power Shift, I more often than not get put in lobbies where most of the people just grease and sweat as if I were in an esports tournament. Even given the luxury of playing with a friend, it just sucks any of the fun out from what I have playing the game.

I keep giving this game a chance. I keep changing my loadouts. I unlock and try out new and interesting weapons to see what works for me. I make sure to keep some variety in the matches that I play. I participate in the events to explore the game's personality. Sometimes I just try and focus on the contracts. No matter what I do, I feel miserable playing this game. It feels like the game punishes me for the way I like to play shooters, and that I should be playing "the right way".

This game will certainly have its fair share of people who will enjoy playing it. I'm not one of them. Sorry.

Alright, so I mainly bought this game because I have a friend who was really hyped and interested in this game. I sort of bought the game last minute, because I didn't know if I wanted to play it because of all the other bad reviews that I've been seeing.

There's only one thing that I will agree with the other bad reviews on, and that is what I get for the price. I do think the game is amazing in terms of the storytelling and the visuals. However, for the first 90 minutes of the game, I do felt like I was being hand-holded a lot during the game, and it was only after completing the first chapter that I felt like I was able to explore more of the game. And even after that, I think its best you choose the harder difficulties if you want more of a challenge, otherwise the game is boring.

Co-op is a little janky when it comes to how many mobs you can spawn. When you are playing with other people, the mob cap feels too restrictive and sort of takes away from some of the fun the game has to offer, being a strategy game.

It's a good game, but definitely wait for a sale of at least 25% off. I don't think it's $40 good, but I would say maybe $30 good.

A surprisingly versatile, roguelike restaurant simulator that, when playing with friends, can give you countless hours of fun. Especially when you play the game with mods.

This hack and slash title has honestly not only been a trip to the past, but honestly one of the most fun games that I've played in a while. It's challenging and quite fun to play with your friends. This game's unique art style and soundtrack really make it stand out from many other titles of games I've played.

The game's sense of depth can be a little annoying, as I sometimes fail to line up properly with enemies to get a proper hit, but it never detracts from the game's immersive levels and combat. Honestly looking forward to playing this with more friends and tackling some of the DLC.

I have honestly never played a game that infuriated me more than this game.

I got this game to play with two other friends, and coming from a game called PlateUp, I thought that with a similar premise, we were going to have a lot of fun. It initially did start off as a fun, challenging game. However, over the course of the game, that challenged turned into absurd difficulty and it started getting ridiculous.

Some of the levels the game throws at you are really difficult to wrap around, but imagine trying to get multiple people to understand it and figure out how to optimally work with each other. We had to take several attempts to barely understand the levels, combine it with some minor bugs in this game, and other minor details, the game knows how to infuriate you. And I hate how this is the default difficulty of the game. The fact that the game has ways to make it easier through "Assist Settings" is condescending and makes you feel like you are not good enough for the game.

Getting 3 stars on a level honestly isn't possible unless you and your friends completely sweat with the dashes and get good RNG with the recipes. It was through this that we got a few close calls to 3 stars, but only falling a few points short. But the game deliberately times you to where if you don't get it within the second, the customer gets impatient and fails you.

I know PlateUp has some finnicky controls, but it is much worse in this game. Sometimes whenever I place an ingredient in a pot or trying to pick up a pot/pan before the meat burns, the game oftentimes misunderstood where I was facing and decides to place what I'm holding on the completely wrong tile, or it picks up an item I'm not even looking at. It's almost as if the developers didn't do enough playtesting to iron out these seemingly minor issues that can make or break an attempt.

Also, don't bother playing this on singleplayer. On singleplayer, you have to control two people and it is difficult to manage, especially if you are playing with a controller. If you ever choose to play this game, at least get it with a friend so it becomes more bearable. Get a good friend, so that when the both of you get upset trying to do some of the levels, you can forget it.

The plot is cheesy, but I can overlook it. I like the look of the game, it's nice and refreshing. The soundtrack is pretty nice. But that's all the positives that I can say about this game. Unless you're willing to sweat or you can hold your rage, don't buy this game.

This is definitely a classic. I had a lot of fun playing the game, though I will say halfway in the game, you will need to save state a lot as the game gets really hard.

While this is a game that has a promising concept, the execution for this game is awful.

Don't get me wrong, I love pixely games. But playing this game makes me feel like I'm back in 2007-2009. And there are certain levels where I am playing on a 2070 Super and it lags (How do you mess this up with a pixel game?)

However, I can tolerate all of those reasons. What is making me not recommend this game is the fact that on level 24, you can easily softlock yourself in the game. On my first try, both of my players fell down the pits because I thought that was what you had to do to push the buttons. I'm saying softlock because this game for some reason does not give you the option to restart a level at the push of a button. How hard is that to program? I ended up have to start all over from the beginning and on my second attempt, I accidentally pushed the box tower over and I couldn't move the boxes anymore (as the intended solution was you were supposed to push boxes into the pits to press the buttons). At this point, I gave up on the game out of frustration because I didn't want to play through the whole game again.

The only 2 reasons why I am not refunding this game is because I bought this game through a coupon, which doesn't say much considering the base price of the game is $0.99. The other reasons I'm not refunding is because of the cards. Other than that, this isn't a great game and I really hope some updates can be made to fix this game and make it playable.

EDIT: I did figure out how to restart the game, but for some reason on my first playthrough this key didn't work and didn't restart the level. I managed to get to level 47 but I have came across several bugs along the way and some MAJOR lag. I'm not going to be changing my rating solely because of the bugs and the lag alone. Level 47 is complete BS and it is near impossible to beat.

A mind-bending puzzle game. I really enjoyed playing this game and I beat my first playthrough in 2 1/2 hours. The mechanics this game does is quite refreshing and it honestly reminds me of Portal because it messes so much with physics and perception.

In addition, the graphics aren't too simplistic and they feel quite clean. Some of the scenes are quite immersive and stunning. There was only one puzzle I really had an issue with and I felt like the solution was bogus, but other than that it was a pretty good game. Would recommend you get this because I can't use any more words to describe this!

I first heard about this game through TikTok, as it was suggested as a "satisfying building" game that you can easily play. It looked interesting enough for me to pay the price and buy the game.

Upon the first few minutes of the game, the controls and features are as simplistic as building the town itself (it's simple). Rotating the camera is quite annoying, as you have to hold left click to do that (I would much prefer middle mouse button / scroll wheel). I get that this game is meant to be a toy, not an actual building software. However, one of my biggest pet peeves I had when playing this is how the grid for this game works. The grid is very asymmetrical and there are moments where the grid completely messes up how buildings can look, either skewing the direction you place your buildings or making corners look quite unnatural. Don't believe me? Try keeping two rows of houses in parallel.

Also given the game's controls, the placement is clicky, not brushy. I can't just left click and hold to brush in land/house placement or removal. You will have to manually click every single tile to get what you want, which can be very tedious for those who want to build larger towns.

There's a few other minor critiques, such as the simplistic save "system", and the limited varieties of landscape that can be achieved. Overall, this game has very pleasing visuals and is a good way to quickly whip up a good looking town. It is a great game for those who don't know how to use more complex software and just simply want to build away. However, if you are a power user and like more control over certain aspects, this game will test your patience, and what you can accomplish.

EDIT: I didn't realize this game just came out of Early Access. I'm hoping that this game will receive more updates.

I originally had to buy this game as a "textbook expense" for a college course I'm taking, which involves talking about game design. However, just even diving into the first few hours for this game and I can already see how this game is going to be really good. I've already played games with a few of my classmates and friends, and this game gets addicting fast.

Ever wanted to play Chess? Checkers? Connect Four? Every card game you can think of? Mancala? Settlers Of Catan? Dungeons and Dragons? Tabletop Simulator can do all of this, because Tabletop Simulator by itself is not a game. It is a physics simulator that is able to host any board game that you can throw at it, and the Steam Workshop, along with other methods of transferring mods, make this game host a rich selection of many board games and show how incredibly versatile Tabletop Simulator is.

Be sure to buy this game for your friends whenever possible, because this game isn't fun to play unless you have friends who are willing to play with you. I would say have at least 3 other people and you can tackle about 80% of the games you can play. Highly recommend you get this.
