Wonderful game with an incredibly well-voiced and charming yet thought-provoking story - a little gem from the Rocky Mountains

Ein "Survival"-Mix aus Minecraft und The Forest - für mich eines der spannensten Konzepte der letzten Jahre. Stimmungsvolles Nordamerika, optisch toll. Gebalanced, so dass man es entspannend spielen kann ohne jegliche Hektik. Das Spiel beginnt klein und wenig komplex, skaliert dann immer mehr. Das Ausbauen des Stützpunktes ist sehr intuitiv, bringt wichtige Vorteile und ist damit sehr motivierend. Das HIGHLIGHT ist die nach eigenem Wunsch frei erweiterbare Welt, das kenne ich sonst aus keinem Spiel und ist wirklich fantastisch umgesetzt. Nach 5h habe ich ca. 1/4 der Kampagne abgeschlossen. In Zukunft sind härtere Schwierigkeitsgrade sicher eine Überlegung wert, um den Wiederspielwert zu erhöhen.

TL;DR: Play the original or visit your local woods :)

We gave the final release another chance after finishing the alpha a year ago. We quit after 3.5 hrs this time. SotF will never reach the level of the original Forest game. The map is too large and lacks intriguing locations. The geocaching is fundamentally broken and removes any motivation for building a base. The survival aspects are trivial. The inventory system and controls are probably the weakest of any game I've played in the past 20 years. The same FPS on Ultra and Low settings indicate a complete lack of optimization. The story didn't seem to have improved and was in a disastrous state a year ago.

Bought this game because two friends convinced me to join. Played 9.7 hours in a row.
