Steam Link works great with my Quest 3 headset. The Half-Life 2 VR mod is mindblowing.

It's a really simple game of levelling up, acquiring loot and boosting stats while fighting hordes of monsters. After playing for a while it does start to feel very samey.. kind of boring. Other games operating in a similar space, such as Vampire Survivors, offer a lot more variety albeit through different mechanisms to the 'so many items' style that Brotato uses.

The real charm of this game lies in the different potato characters with their different stats, which force/encourage you to play with different builds simply to make the most of their buffs and to work around their weaknesses.

I had a lot of fun with this game up to a point and got 100% achievements pre-update. The new Abyssal Terrors DLC doesn't really add much. You get more playable characters to negotiate, and more items, but the 20 wave gameplay routine is identical to the base game except the monsters look different..

From an achievement completionist point of view too, I really can no longer be bothered to grind out 20 boring waves of Brotato action for every single playable character on the new map (which is basically the same as the original one except the monsters are reskinned).

I won't 100% this game again because it would be a grind, and there is the risk that when the next DLC comes out we'll have to do it all over again.

Typing games won't appeal to everybody, but I really enjoy this one.

I'm pretty sure that regular activities like this while you're young will also prevent/slow down the progress of dementia/coginitive degradation when we're much older. [no evidence provided]

It's not meant to be Vampire Survivors. It's also a lot worse than Vampire Survivors. Just play VS instead. This is too grindy for me. Give me a funny

It's a good quality single player expansion for Half-Life 2. Some new weapons, good level design and some nice new music. It fits in to the lore of the wider Half-Life universe well.

Negative review changed to positive - general connection issues and matchmaking appear to have been fixed! This game is great when you play with others.

It is a really good game, if you are able to actually connect, and if you can find people to play with. The official game Discord channel is busy with people sharing their temporary 'friend codes' so that you can squad up with people.. which is currently the only way to get a game with others (unless your Steam friends own the game) since the matchmaking isn't working.

Unlike other co-op shooters like Left 4 Dead, I don't find this game to be much fun in single player.. it can be a tedious and frustrating experience. Get a few players in though, and the action is great.

This will be well worth it once the problems (server capacity, matchmaking) are ironed out, but it isn't there yet. Give it a month and see how the online situation looks then.

It's a charming, chilled out puzzle game where you place track to connect locations. The levels aren't particularly difficult, but that's not really the point with this game. Think of it as 'Train Valley Lite' in VR.

I'm playing on a Quest 3, streaming via Steam Link from my PC and would say it plays well, definitely comfortable. The word 'cosy' if probably overused in games at the moment, but this one definitely fits the description!
