The game is good but turning a legendary title into spyware is a low blow, and it should be a crime. Steam should remove games with TOS like this.

I love the idea and the demo was quite good. Surprisingly, not many bugs and the gameplay is pretty addicting. However, I think the base defense mode is a bit raw and not that engaging for me, but I do believe this game has potential to be something fun.

I usually don’t like turn based games, but after seeing all the positive reviews and watching a bit of gameplay on YouTube, I decided to try it on Game Pass. I ended up playing halfway through Act 2 and was completely hooked. It turned out nothing like I expected. Even someone like me who hates turn based games got pulled in. I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t want to continue on Game Pass and bought it on Steam to support the devs.

The music is absolutely unique and stunning. I could listen to the main menu theme for hours. There isn't a single average track in the whole game. The voice acting is excellent, and Maelle and Gustave have voices that feel like therapy. Exploration is solid too, with plenty of content and some really nice easter eggs. The visuals look unreal, and both the dialogue and characters are full of depth and really well done.

Even at this point in the story, it easily ranks in my top 5 game narratives ever.

To be honest, I was never really into these kinds of games and I had never come across one that truly pulled me in. I played it a bit when it first came out, but honestly, the story did not grab me. However, the exploration part was a lot of fun. After fully exploring the map, I got bored and did not continue with the story. Later on, I started playing again with the 2.0 update and it felt like an entirely different game.

Speaking as someone who is not a fanatic and stays neutral, I can honestly say this game feels like watching a movie. Especially with the 2.0 update and the new story content, it is "absolute cinema". I really liked the fantasy world they created. When you think about it, the universe they built is really creative. I could never come up with environments and creatures like the ones in this game even if I thought for days. Plus, with the added ray tracing feature, the game looks amazing. The graphics are truly perfect.

The combat system is extremely fun. Building a team, buffing them, switching between characters during fights, and using the counter-attack dodge mechanic all feel smooth and satisfying. I believe even a neutral player would enjoy this game. And after all, it is free. If you like exploration and story-driven games, it is definitely worth trying.

Do not pay attention to people who already have a bias against the game or just troll for no reason. I think it is a really good game. There are always people who are unhappy with everything in life, but just because the game does not fit their taste does not mean it is bad. Some of these people also seem to forget that the game is free. Just give it a try and explore it yourself.

Early Access Review
Even though inZOI is very detailed, the game still feels empty. I’ve been following the project since it was first announced because I was curious how it would turn out. To be honest, the content is pretty weak. I haven’t fully learned all the systems yet so I can’t say much about how complex it really is, but compared to The Sims, it’s harder to get into and feels aimless. Since it’s in early access I understand that things are still in development. I liked the AI features. You can already see potential for a solid and creative community library.

In terms of performance it runs well. The render engine is different and I’m not a fan. The visuals look off, probably because of real-time interactive rendering. I work in rendering professionally so I understand how difficult this is. In a game like inZOI, every object such as furniture, walls, and decorations has its own geometry, textures, and sometimes node-based materials. Players can place or change these objects at any time, and the engine has to instantly update lighting, shadows, and reflections based on that. This is real-time interactive ray tracing across unlimited combinations, not a fixed or pre-rendered setup. Even offline renderers like Corona can start to struggle when dealing with too much geometry or lighting. Handling that level of complexity in real time while keeping performance stable even on high-range PCs is extremely challenging.

Hopefully they add more content and some direction. Like I said, it's still in early access and literally just launched yesterday. It makes sense that people started comparing inZOI to The Sims right away since The Sims has been around for years, has way more content, and its visual style is sharper, smoother, and more polished. It’s familiar, so the comparisons are understandable. But inZOI is going for something different. It focuses more on realism, while The Sims has a more stylized and playful vibe. Both have their own strengths. If you enjoy The Sims, there's a good chance you'll like inZOI too, especially if you're into life sims or building houses.

It takes around 1-1.5 hours to finish, and let’s be real, you’re not going to play it again. Plus, they thought of adding some post-game challenges. But hey, I got it for 2 bucks, so yeah, I had fun digging a hole. Would I dig again? Probably no.

I really wonder what they were thinking when releasing this as a separate game. What kind of mindset is this and why would you feel the need for something like this? I am not complaining about it being free if they had released it as an update I would not say anything but why does it come as two copies in the library.

I have a high end PC always played on ultra settings and set it to ultra again nothing has changed in the game except its stuttering and lags abit. Supposedly there is ray tracing but it does not make much of a difference. They have maxed up the bloom to an eye blinding level which is very disturbing and slightly increased saturation and vibrance that is all. I am not saying this to sound aggressive but there is not even the slightest graphical upscale.

Why would you think of doing something like this I cannot wrap my head around it just think logically why would anyone do this. The menu interface has also gotten worse I wish they had not touched it and the in game chat has been removed. This did not affect me much since I was playing invite only but now hackers spamming lobbies will not be seen anymore. Instead of solving the problem they just removed the game function which is a completely ridiculous move with zero logic behind it.

Just because they made this a separate application and put the word Enhanced on it they deserve a negative review. This kind of ridiculous mindset should never be praised otherwise they will think what they did is an achievement. I seriously wonder what they were thinking.

I had bought it with high expectations. After all, it was made by the original developers of a game like "Life is Strange". When I finished the first episode, I thought, “Okay, maybe it's progressing slowly, but the second episode will probably have really good events.” Unfortunately, the same monotony continued, and there was just a slight bit of action at the end, but even that didn’t satisfy me at all. I've never seen a story this illogical in my life. Sure, it can focus on adolescence, but the way the mystical elements are handled just makes no sense. Even though I finished the game, it didn’t give me any sort of logical or meaningful feeling, It just felt overly dramatic for no good reason, filled with unnecessary emotional weight that didn’t serve the story.

This game was made to be incredibly emotional for no reason. And considering we played it for 12-13 hours, 90% of it was filled with nonsense scenes. There’s no action, no engaging events, no complex scenes at all. Also, the main character being so cowardly and timid is quite annoying. Despite our choices, she still remains overly simplistic. At certain points, I found myself asking, “Why is she just watching this happen? Why doesn’t she intervene?” and this happened repeatedly. Some scenes were just flat-out strange; I found them really weird.

I can’t say too much negative things about the depth of the other characters in our group—It's alright, I kind of liked them, it was generic though. However I don't like the fact that they are acting so illogical & overly dramatic. It’s also the simplicity of the main character that I didn’t like. The second part becomes downright ridiculous. I had such high hopes for this game, but the fact that it just dragged on for 10 hours in such a boring way and ended with a meaningless, childish drama really pissed me off.

Unfortunately, the game didn’t meet my expectations at all. I was genuinely positive about it at first, I even wrote a nice review praising the developers. Now that I’ve finished the second part, I’m writing this, and unfortunately, it’s just not a good game, It was bad, and I mean actually bad when it comes to the story. Visually and in terms of individual scenes, yes, it looks good and can be nice to watch. But the storyline and pacing are incredibly boring, monotonous, slow, and unnecessarily emotional. And yeah, the ending of the game was so unsatisfying that I’m not even going to bother talking about it.

Sorry, but I can’t recommend this game.
