CrossCode has tight top-down RPG/action gameplay combined with an excellent story and setting. The game has also received wonderful post-launch support by the developer, throwing in new side quests and activities (including New Game+ mode). I recommend it without reservation.

This is, quite possibly, the best Zachtronics game yet. It has every bit of the Zachtronics competitive puzzle-optimizing fun we've come to know and love, but the infinite play area means that merely solving a puzzle is always reasonably easy.

The lack of an explicit "branch" instruction does make for simpler puzzles than TIS-100 or Shenzhen I/O (for example), but I find the result to be a tighter focus on the aspects that matter to this game, rather than being too simple. In addition, Opus Magnum should be considerably less intimidating to many people than those games were, given its much more visual nature.

I've been playing Factorio for over a year, and it has secured its place as one of my favorite games. In many respects, it is basically a puzzle game, in which you have to figure out the best way of getting many, many objects from point A to point B, when those paths need to criss-cross and collide and work around one another.

Your first few factories are going run into tremendous problems. But don't despair! And don't be afraid to try, try again. Each time you start, you'll learn something new. And remember: The solution is always "more!"
