Review updated. The game has been released, and it remains a great game.

The gameplay loop is interesting. Your only job is to make it to the end with a party of 4 characters, defeating the final boss, then do it all over again. How you do it is the interesting part, since there are so many ways to go about it.

All characters are unique in their mechanics, and while some are stronger than others, the variability the game offered and the combination of characters you can make is enough to cover for these imbalances. Enemies are also unique, and some of them are also stronger than others, making each run a somewhat unique one. You might fight the easy enemies first, then harder one next, or vice versa. For a game relying on randomness, there's a surprising amount of strategy involved, from items, relics (swappable run-wide bonuses), to character skills. Even with the exact set of circumstances, there can be a lot of differences in how the run will progress.

Story is solid. As of this writing update, the story has been mostly completed, and it is a very compelling one.

All in all, I would recommend roguelite players to give it a try. Maybe you like it, maybe not. But I sure do.

Well, what can I say? It's OK. Not great, not bad either.

The story is really short. It's an RPG, but I think you're meant to be playing it as if it's an Arcade game, ignoring a few of its RPG elements. The game has more than 1 endings, but all of them can be achieved in mere minutes after the first playthrough.

All that's left is one thing: You're not supposed to finish this game like other RPGs. You're supposed to play it like an Arcade Hack-and-Slash game while treating the story like an afterthought. While this will usually receive a thumbs-down from me, the fact is, the game is FREE and you're very welcome to try it yourself, so that's already a great thing.

A Great game, really. There's a vast universe to explore, and it's gorgeous. Much of your actions also affects the universe: Trade prices, station security, and allegiance can change slowly but surely. It shows how dangerous our universe can be, and how unique each solar system can be: 3 stars in a solar system, 2 black holes orbiting each other, and the gorgeous yet dangerous White Dwarfs can all be encountered.

If you're a fan of Space in general and would like to see the wonders and dangers of the universe, this game is really for you.

This game is probably one of the best simulation game alongside Rimworld and Factorio. The game is updated regularly and each update adds new things to do and extend existing systems.

Your objective in the game is to survive, basically, and to explore the place you're in. There's a lot you can do in the game, and there's a lot you can mess up which can grow exponentially until you can't keep up anymore. Most resources are finite, and even those that seemed infinite has restrictions in its availability that will take up your attention and needs managing, so managing them is of utmost importance.

There's so many things to do that it becomes one of the game's major weakness. Let me break it to you: It is not simple. There's a lot to think about everything at once, demanding for attention. What starts as a way to survive becomes a management nightmare of trying to balance a lot of things. Automation helps in this regard, but still you have to plan for it in advance.

In the end, if you like management games and are ready for management nightmare, or if you like the challenge, this game is for you.

A good, improved game from its bad past

This is not a game where it babysits you onto things. This is not a game where it tells every detail of the gameplay. It basically gives you a ship, complete with its tools and materials, put you somewhere on atmosphere, tells you the basic controls, then leave you to it. 80% of this game is about trial and error - you try things, then it breaks, then you learn about it and figure out how to avoid it in the future. Rinse and repeat

You'll learn, through trial an error, that:
- Resource priority is a thing,
- Ship designs for space and planets/moons are different in more ways than just thrusters,
- The speeds are realistic,
- Functional ship is more efficient than beautiful ships, and
- Most functionalities can be added or extended by code

...right
This game can make you nuts.
This game can break friendships in a night.
This game can mess with you.

Dota 2 came from a mod (called maps) of Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne called DotA. The concept of creeps, neutrals and Roshan came from the original. Heroes too.

Most concepts remained unchanged, even heroes and skills. Know how Juggernaut gain his Blade Fury? Thank the Blademaster for his ultimate. Know the Lich's first skill? Yup, Frost Nova. Nyx came from the Crypt Lord, Pudge came from Abomination (Undead Heavy Unit), Invoker from Blood Mage, and the list goes on.

Needless to say, I played all three games, and I could see the improvement. For those who plaued DotA, Dota 2 is for you. For those who don't, play another MOBA first. Dota is a ruthless game with a ruthless opponent, so you'll need enough mental resilience to play... and skill.

For the quality, though, I gave this game my thumbs up. Don't expect to master this game as easy as LoL or any other MOBA, though!

AWARDS UPDATE: For Steam Awards, this game deserves a new category. This game might be colorful and cute in appearance, but it delve into a very serius, adult matter

For those who never played this game before, please be mindful of the warning. SERIOUSLY. THIS GAME IS UNFIT FOR CHILDREN OR THOSE WHO ARE EASILY DISTURBED. I REGRET IGNORING THE WARNING. Now stop reading and play the game until it returns you to the main menu on its own. After that, continue reading.

In short sentence: I highly recommend this game to adults and those who are not easily disturbed. NOW STOP READING AND PLAY. I KNOW YOU HAVEN'T STOP READING!

I REPEAT: BELOW INFORMATION IS ONLY RESERVED FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PLAYED THE GAME FOR A WHILE!

===================================================================

First off, the tag isn't lying. This game is a psychological horror, covered in a cute-looking game. Hint's on the warning, you know? No visual novels have this warning, and when the game finally explained why, well... let's just say that I was trembling when I looked at the fact that
Sayori killed herself and a file, in return, was generated, saying "RestartTopContext: Oh jeez...I didn't break anything, did I? Hold on a sec, I can probably fix this...I think...
Actually, you know what? This would probably be a lot easier if I just deleted her. She's the one who's making this so difficult. Ahaha! Well, here's goes nothing."

THE GAME SERIOUSLY DELETED HER ON MY SECOND PLAY

Ring a bell? That's the GD of IMSCARED!

This is why I highly recommend this game. The surprise factor and the fact that it's similar to a dating sim really caught me off-guard. By the way, it's SO RARE for me to be caught off-guard by a game, and this game just did that!
