made under very difficult conditions of the pandemic, this DLC leaves a lot to be desired in terms of gameplay mechanics, level design and monster design. who thought that the worst monster design from the original doom eternal will make for a fun boss? that's just lazy and infuriating for no reason.
how levels are just straight lines with disabled backtracking also saps the fun out of what I love about doom's exploration.

After discovering this game during the Steam Next Fest, I've spent way too much time playing this game. Grinding is fun, the quests are creative, gunplay is well-done, a lot of things to improve and level up.
However, it's very janky, a lot of small bugs and the game just isn't either polished nor optimized. The visual style is very disjointed, especially in cosmetics for your character and your base.

I can forgive all of that and have been having a ton of fun with my friends since launch ^^

Wonderfully written and beautifully designed, Enderal continues the SureAI tradition of high quality world-building and smart game and level design. Its scarcity balances out the progression, and still it feels rewarding without making you overpowered. Its writing makes sure that you will care about its main characters, and its introduction is a master class in opening a video game. The voice acting is superb across its main cast, even if side roles (especially children) leave something to be desired. In the end, all the small nitpicking that can be levied at the game that comes down to this being a volunteer-based project, is dwarfed by its brilliance. I have thrown the team a few bucks through the donation channels and you should too.
Enderal's biggest weakness for me personally is its linearity akin to Witcher 3 and other critically-acclaimed RPGs, but I always valued Skyrim's felling of freedom, both through mods and its design of Companions, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, etc. Enderal feels like it only has its main quest to pursue and many small side quests - admittedly though, its main quest has engrossed me so much, I don't think I've had the chance to distract myself with side content. I'm currently in my second playthrough and I'm actively trying to explore side content, because I want to be able to decide the pace of the game for myself.

"Quality of Life update"? Uh, yeah, ruining the quality of life for a great amount of paying customers. In the year when Steam Deck exists, and you have a native Linux port, you just release an update that breaks it. Well done.

I bought this game to play with a friend and... well, it has underdelivered to say the least. the controls are unintuitive, and the the game is laggy and slow - we couldn't get a game going, it would just freeze for minutes at a time. the physics seems to be nice, the practice mode is actually a practice mode, customization seems pretty extensive, but all of it isn't gonna matter if I can't get into a game.

bruh moment in video game form

hilarious, charming and absolutely enthralling. the cartoon style a-la slapstick, silent comedies, almost looney tunes-like brings this whole thing to another level. it should've been straight up a cartoon, but otherwise is what I would recommend as one of the most amazing games for children. this is like monkey island of the 21st century.
