I doubt I can do this game the justice I feel it deserves, even if I wrote an essay.
In short though? Play for 15 mins, 5 hours, or anything in between, it's great a coop game with what I feel is a pretty good difficulty scale. If you loved Deep Rock Galactic then you'll likely enjoy this too. If you're reading this, the best word of advise I can give you is to find some good friends to play this with and mess around with what works with your play styles, seems obvious but... again, I can write an essay, but I'd rather say it's worth it and be done with it.

I loved Vermintide, and I love this game, but for different reasons.

The horde basher mix is this same, and yet in some small ways better. The setting obviously is different but the "umph" with story content is lacking. Dan Abnett, the amazing GW book writer, who was a part of the creation process was a helping hand in this games creation process, but I can't see it, possibly because I was expecting something else.

This game is great to pick up, hack and blast through a few rounds, grab some paid cosmetics if you feel you didn't spend enough money on the minis, and live out your Warhammer 40k heretic murder-bot fantasies before returning to the drudgery of day-to-day existence. I'd say that's where the magic ends in it's present state.

Still a fun game, and as much as it pains me to say it, best picked up on a decent sale. Unless you live and breathe Warhammer, in which case hit full send!

EDIT- Nov 24 2023:
The skill tree remake has been an excellent change to the game, I would encourage players to find the weapons that best fit their play style, find the perks to those weapons and then build YOUR OWN spec based on those choices, otherwise by following some guides you're just filling someone else's boots (sure, the size is right, but it still isn't naturally yours).
Game still needs more story, they're making steps in A direction but it's too soon to render any meaningful judgement on.
Still good fun to play, and now you can do it in a plethora of new ways as each class.

A game that is best played in coop for sure. It starts of slow and with a good deal of hand holding, at least in its current state anyways, then it ramps up really quickly in intensity which isn't a bad thing if you're used to games like ARMA 3 and have some of your equally "traumatized" mates along for the ride.

This game has some growing to do when it comes to story and the method of delivery but the way I see it it's all in due time, for now it has decent combat, kickass huge map, decent challenge and some great visuals.
