So I just got this and played for about 30 minutes. I used to play Kelly Slater Pro Surfer quite a bit, and in fact, I still have my PS2 and that game to play. This game looks amazing!!! I like the Freesurf option so far. My only gripe with this, and it's somewhat of a big deal is the controller setup and the options when doing tricks. The left to right steering of the surfer is really lame in that you're basically doing it by going left to go left (not from the surfer's perspective but from the screen) on the screen or right to go to the right on the screen which is driving me nuts. I fly RC planes, and I always fly as if I am the plane (make sense?). The controller options need updated on this game to basically drive the surfer like, if I go left, the surfer will turn left, or right and he turns right. I feel like Resident Evil and Kelly Slater Pro Surfer had a baby and now that's how I have to drive my surfer. Very dumb! The control of the surfer should not change depending on which way the wave is going. Also, the button layout needs to be configurable and assignable. IDK if I can recommend the game until the controller thing gets fixed. Great looking game but big miss on the control options and surfer steering. If you played Kelly Surfer Pro Surfer, that control setup was PRFCT!

I own a few of the planes in this sim and so far they seem pretty accurate. I am in the PNW and its raining non-stop, so this is a great way to stay proficient during the rainy season. I am using a Spektrum DX8 and Spektrum Dongle and so far no hitches with anything.

Cons:
1. As with any RC flight sim when the aircraft gets further out in LOS view it gets kind of hard to see whats going (I don't have the same problem IRL).
2. The runways in the game seem very short. We have a paved 400 foot runway at our flying field and the runways in this sim all seem pretty small, for the ones I have tried at least. I've yet to run out of runway at my flying field and I fly some larger planes.
3. The sound tends to jump up to 100% when switching aircraft. I am unsure why it does this and it's very annoying. I set the sound of the engines/motors to 50%.
4. The graphics in some areas are straight out of like UT99 (see the venues to fly from)... Apocalypse? Really lame.
5. Overall, again, the graphics are pretty terrible.

Pro's:
1. I can stay proficient and fly using the same Spektrum DX8 I use when fly the real thing.
2. As a fixed wing RC pilot, this is definitely good for exploring 3D Flying (Yak, Extra, etc), learning
aerobatics, and learning to fly helicopters, drones, etc. (ie. no cost crashing)
3. It IS fun to use when you overlook the stuff I'm mentioning.

I'd give this 6.5 out of 10 score. For the $99.00 price point, I should not have sound issues and feel
there could be WAY more to the graphics, shading, level design, and especially some longer runways.
Planes could use better shading/rendering and the skydomes or w/e they use look to create backdrops look like UT99 low resolution skydomes. The level design a junior school level designer would make. Just my two cents.
