I'm too old and my reflexes are too slow to fully enjoy this game. But my 15yo self would have loved it! The graphics are nice and the combat is very fast and smooth. The only change I would ask the developers to make is to add more D&D/Fallout style feats.

Unlike a lot of people, I am not bothered by the new skill system (when compared to Avernum or Geneforge). But after playing so many Spiderweb games, they all start to blend into each other. I got bored about halfway through, and it became a chore to finish the game.

This game is very enjoyable. The exploration is the best part. The setting doesn't seem like it would make any sense due to the mish-mash of fantasy, sci-fi and post-apocalyptic genres, but somehow it all does. My only complaints are:

1. The sci-fi stuff toward the end of the game (Xacor, Ignadon) are not as enjoyable as the opening parts of the game (due mainly to the poor level design IMO).
2. The combat difficulty is slightly too high toward the beginning of the game, and slightly too low toward the end of the game (especially if you ingest lots of elex, which becomes way too easy to obtain later on).

I also could not play the game at max graphical settings, but that's my fault because I have an old PC.

Recommended.

Good game. Relaxing. I wish there was more RPG stuff in it.

9/10 if you keep in mind the game does not have a lot of depth.

This game has some nice qualities. The solar system map is neat. It is a seamless open world, and I like all the different types of wormholes, rifts, gates, clouds, etc. The graphics and ship designs are okay. (Not as functional looking as Homeworld. But okay.) The GUI takes a while to get used to, but all the important stuff is within reach.

The bad parts are that the solar system doesn't feel lived in. There are not a lot of station types. I didn't notice many ships traveling between systems. Convoys only seem to be triggered when you accept a quest. The scale of the map is also way off. Is distance measured in meters? Kilometers? Further, you can't control your wingmen directly like you can in some other Space sims, like Star Wolves, Nexus: TJI, and the Homeworld series, which I prefer.

Overall, the game feels a little soulless. I was hoping for something with a little more personality. I finished the game, but feel disappointed. (Or, I do not feel much of anything, since the game is kind of bland.)

Battle Brothers has some pretty good combat. But that's all there is to the game. After a couple dozen hours it begins to feel pointless. There aren't even towns or buildings to fight in. There's no way this game can hold a candle to all-time greats like Jagged Alliance 2. Not even close. Even Mount&Blade has more to do in its strategic layer than this game.

A solid, good RPG. Better than Witcher 1. I don't like the character Geralt much (too edgy/emo), but the game is still decent. Recommended.

This is a cult classic among some crowds. It is not a bad game (after you install the community patch), but I think it is a little overrated. Still, it is better than KOTOR1 and worth playing.

This is a solid tactical RPG, and early Kickstarter success. Recommended.
