Why this game sucks:

— Lunar gravity (bike does not accelerate back down to the ground during jumps)
— Graphical downgrade. Everything looks like absolute trash, especially the terrain.
— Wrecking ball AI. Yet again.
— Skill tree that nerfs maneuverability and makes the game an abysmal experience
— At the starting gate shifting weight forward with the right thumbstick to prevent wheelies does not work. Works in challenges but not while racing. Does not behave the same way as it did in previous games.
— Ridiculous & concussive darkening of the screen at starting gate. We asked you to remove that ♥♥♥♥ in the last game, Milestone. STOP.
— Rewind is no longer infinitely available. Now it has a "cool-down". Rewind is necessary to fight the wrecking-ball AI and overzealous impact crash when jumps can't be cleared.
— Bike sounds like absolute trash. Sounds like there's a throttle limiter.
— Whip Master Extra Event: all whips are interpreted as scrubs instead of whips making it impossible to pass.
— Some genius decided to add rider injuries, but instead of making it cool like SKATE's "hall of meat" it just wants you to pay credits after a race to repair yourself.

Go play MESX3 instead.

Update: STEAM CLOUD FUNCTIONALITY IS MISSING! I filed a ticket with Milestone support about it on July 10th 2020 and never received a response. The ticket is still open.

PC was never a priority when you left us out of the opportunity to pre-order and play early as you otherwise afforded to console players. This is precisely why I purchased a pre-order from cdkeys for half price, because you don't deserve full price for this game.

Some genius middle-manager at Milestone has come up with the brilliant idea of the starting gate being transformed into this half-concussed, COD-like crescendo into consciousness while you wait for the gate to drop and now you can no longer hear your bike or any of the other bikes rev anymore. It's horrendous.

The nickname font on the rider, even when customized to the largest size possible is still TINY. How can you miss a bug like this?

You simply cannot fall off the bike anymore when casing. At all. That skill-gap is gone.

Cornering no longer has any weight and continuous, forward momentum. Instead of sliding out while exiting a corner, as was the case in the slide/drift-fest that was MESX2 & MXGP2019, now you're more likely to 180 into a corner as they have loosened the bike and, subsequently, its weight far, far too much.

The right stick does nothing. Don't even bother with it, especially while cornering. It does absolutely nothing while cornering. They've gimped it.

Riding simply feels slow and unengaging.

I remember YellowS2K stating that you cannot move the bike around in the air to change its trajectory, while true, even hitting the smallest jump i am able to lay the bike flat and immediately crash. I'm trying to lean and Milestone's IK rig wants to literally lay the bike flat for me.

One of the most egregious UX fails of this game, as if this UI isn't bad enough, is the obfuscation of the exit to main menu. It's hidden within a sub-menu that gives no indication it's hiding there. I literally thought the feature was removed from the game until I was able to find it in the sub-menu (it's hidden under results).

As has become a long-standing Milestone tradition, it's nigh-impossible to get a podium qualifying lap-time against realistic difficulty AI, but as soon as you hit the main event you'll blast ahead of them.

For all those who moaned about being able to blast their way over the whoops, well, you got your wish. You now crawl over the whoops and it's boring as f$%K. Congrats.

Rider model can't seem to keep his feet on the pegs..can't keep his right leg tucked in either, odd. This was present in the earliest alpha builds and still hasn't been fixed. #justmilestonethings

This is all I have to write about 1.5 hours in. I will continue to update, but I feel everyone should know this before purchasing.

[I'm also researching to determine whether the animators/modellers responsible for the excellent rider & bike IK rig in MESX1, 2 and MXGP2019 were 86sixed and outsourced to Rainbow post THQ Nordic merge because the abysmally-bad and down-right embarrassing rider posture and movement is simply too reminiscent of Rainbow studios horrendous work to be just a coincidence]

Update after reading the credits: the "Lead Animator" hasn't changed since MXGP2019, the "Animator" position added a second Animator while retaining the last person and "Junior Animator" is the same case as "Animator" — same person retained, another "Junior Animator" added. I have no idea if these people are responsible for only animating IK rigs previously created for them or they created the IK. They do not list "Riggers" in their credits.

- Sliding simulator 2019.
- Cornering is awful. The bike just doesn't turn. There's no traction.
- Whips are a massive regression from MESX2 (best whips Milestone had).
- Dynamic camera is dreadful (going to be even worse in MESX3).
- Riding in the wet is less fun than a root canal, colonoscopy and MRCP scan, combined, but I'm sure it looked pretty to the environment artists. Pity they aren't forced to play their creation and endure the torture of it.
- Leaderboards take an eternity to load
- The "obstacle avoided" mechanic is beyond overzealous as is the off-track sensitivity and its penalty. Both are simply too severe for multiplayer. These are a nightmare in multiplayer and stopping to absolutely zero momentum means one can never, ever catch up. This also isn't how it happens in real life. Get rid of obstacle avoidance. Make the off-track timer 10 seconds.
- Also, collisions, be they AI or multiplayer, are simply too extreme. Bikes can collide in real-life without the rider falling off. AI or multiplayer bikes are not brick walls. Please, I implore you, work on this.

Enjoy the cheque, boys. Hope Gabe finally opens up his cheque book for some lawyers, or better yet, stepped away from collecting knives and removes your game from the store, starving you and epic of income.

I am compelled to do what any consumer without a voice and who isn't being heard by publishers, would do, and I'm giving this a thumbs down to intentionally hurt 2K/Take-Two Interactive.

Apparently, the 1 finger salute is now a bannable offence on Steam, but perhaps that's only due to Gearbox and not Valve. So I'm being more cordial than 2K/Take-Two Interactive deserves.

I am unable to review the BS series fairly anymore, thanks to 2K/Take-Two Interactive. This is one of my most favourite games of all time, but I am compelled to do what any consumer without a voice and who isn't being heard by publishers, would do, and I'm giving this a thumbs down to intentionally hurt 2K/Take-Two Interactive.

Apparently, the 1 finger salute is now a bannable offence on Steam, but perhaps that's only due to Gearbox and not Valve. So I'm being more cordial than 2K/Take-Two Interactive.

This is one of my most favourite games of all time, but I am compelled to do what any consumer without a voice and who isn't being heard by publishers, would do, and I'm giving this a thumbs down to intentionally hurt 2K/Take-Two Interactive.

Apparently, the 1 finger salute is now a bannable offence on Steam, but perhaps that's only due to Gearbox and not Valve. So I'm being more cordial than 2K/Take-Two Interactive deserves.

I am unable to review BS2 fairly anymore, thanks to 2K/Take-Two Interactive. This is one of my most favourite games of all time, but I am compelled to do what any consumer without a voice and who isn't being heard by publishers and I'm giving this a thumbs down to intentionally hurt 2K/Take-Two Interactive.

Either way, I'm sorry, 2K Australia, you really made the best gameplay of any BS game, but as you no longer exist because of the greed of your publisher, 2K/Take-Two Interactive, I feel much less guilty leaving this negative review.
