What a game. Unbelievably good coop fun, seriously some of the best shooter gameplay this decade.
Still can't believe they actually made live service fun, getting to see this story unfold and feeling like I'm a part of it has been very cool - I particularly love the way they tease upcoming content in people's games and then totally deny these occurences on social media. Actually recreating the experience of gaming urban myths which I never thought I'd see again.

I'm not a fan of Sony's decision to suddenly enforce a PSN account requirement, but was happy to see the community band together until they backtracked on that one.
We dive together or not at all, indeed.

Leaving a review to counter the plague of people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the game not being feature complete 2 weeks before launch. To anyone concerned that the game lacks content, I seriously wouldn't worry about it. They're planning on launching with more than 10 mission types across 5 zones, which will only grow with time.
But how does it play?

Imagine Left 4 Dead's older brother that's really into WH40k.
Pumping bass/electro/metal tracks, some of the best gun sounds I've heard in a game, absolutely gorgeous environments for you to splatter with heretic blood. And, of course, who could forget the beyond stellar melee combat.

Is it Vermintide 2: the sequel? Definitely not. Aside from obviously having less content (the game isn't even out yet guys, seriously chill, look at the kind of post launch support the last game got) this game has a very different feel. First and foremost, this is a shooter, as opposed to a melee combat game with guns. If you try and only use melee, you will have a rough time. Not to say you can't heavily favor melee (my Zealot can attest to that), but there will definitely be times where the best choice is to switch to a gun and start laying down fire. Personally, I'm fine with this change - it's a different style of gameplay, and it feels incredible satisfying to whittle down a horde while it's charging you only to switch to a chainsword for the last few stragglers.

TLDR; This game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SLAPS, grab a chainsword and get ready to praise the Emperor.

At long last, Total War: Warhammer 3 has come home.
With the release of immortal empires, I can comfortably say this is one of the best total war games out there. Granted, to access that content you do need to own 2 other games - but since those games regularly go on sale I still feel comfortable saying that it is worth the investment. The size of the map and sheer variety of content is staggering, and every new campaign I've started has felt extremely fresh - it's clear that the devs put a lot of thought into each and every lord's starting position. It also features what is undeniably the best multiplayer of the series, the simultaneous turns are a real game changer. Admittedly, more work needs to be done with balancing and bug fixing, but the devs have also made clear this is but the first step of the journey to come, and given their track record with the 2nd game I believe this game is looking at several years of support, free updates, and DLC.

TLDR; this game ♥♥♥♥♥, even if you find strategy games hit or miss.
Blood for the blood god, and skulls for his throne.

This game is really damn good. While the gameplay itself is less than flawless, the story and the dealer are so well fleshed out that the average combat doesn't matter. He is both your best friend but also your opponent. But not an opponent like a villain, it's incredibly similar to playing a card game against your friend. He's both cheering you on and celebrating your achievements while goading you to do better and sneering when you fail. It's absolutely worth getting this game to just enjoy the story that the dealer is telling. It's constantly engaging, and absolutely brilliant.

I'm making this review to talk about the recent reviews that i've seen going up targeting the price of the new DLC.
People are saying that this game is a good game (which it is, it's an absolutely fantastic game) but they disagree with the way the company is releasing and pricing DLC.

I just want to say that the new DLC is only a little bit pricey in my opinion. The Beastmen DLC comes with not only a whole new playable race, it includes an entirely new campaign and map to play on. This is what everyone seems to be overlooking. There is a totally new campaign map with 50 new regions to conquer. There are new maps to fight over in the custom battles feature, with the new bestial paths. There is a ton of new content, and while I would price it at about $15, $20 isn't that unreasonable.

The second point I would like to make here is that these are steam reviews. REVIEWS. The question is "Do you recommend this game?", not "DO you agree with this company's policies?". This game is incredibly fun, and I would recommend it to any strategy or total war fan. A note to other steam reviewers: please for the love of god review the game based on it's own merits, never on future merits or based on DLC. Giving a game a negative review because you disagree with the company is childish, like disliking a movie because one of the actors did something stupid. The game is still fun to play, and I would still absolutely recommend it.

And by the way, to the guy saying you can buy the Witcher 3 for $20, two things. One, the cheapest I could find it was $40 on amazon, plus like $4 shipping. And two, the Witcher 3 and Total War: Warhammer are two very different games. That's like comparing Minecraft and Half Life 2, saying that in Minecraft you have way more freedom than in Half Life 2. That's ridiculous, and they're not even in the same freaking genre.

TLDR; Total War: Warhammer is a really fun game, people rating it badly are doing so not because they dislike the game but because they disagree with the company, and I am totally getting the DLC because it looks really good and adds a solid amount of new content. Peace.

This game.
THIS FREAKING GAME.
This review gets a bit long, so TL;DR at the bottom
I adore this game. Honestly, even though it's in an alpha state it is currently my game of the year. Where do I even begin? You play as either one of 4 hunters or a big beastie monster (Working Title). Your goal (As the hunters) is to kill the big beastie monster. If you happen to be said big beastie monster, you have to kill the hunters (Or evolve and destroy a big power thing or whatever).
I can't even put into words how great this game is. It takes FPS's (Which are traditionally mindless point and shooters) and refines it, transforms it, and twists it. It has really great shooting, but relies more on tactics and strategy. Those guns aren't gonna do much against the big beastie monster, so you better make sure you can hit it a lot. Trap it! Limit its mobility! Drop an orbital bombardment on its head!
If you want to play this as a "Traditional" FPS cause you love Call of Duty and Battlefield, prepare to be disappointed. If you're looking for something smarter, meaner, tenser, play this game. Play this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game and love every minute of it. They rush of being hunted or hunting is undescribable. The adrenaline as you think you've escaped the hunters, but only barely? Heart pounding. I had to take a break after playing as the big beastie monster, simply becasue my heart was beating way too hard. Simply great. And it'll only get better!

TL;DR : This game is great if you enjoy strategy over blind run and gun. And Holy Hell is it fun.
BUY IT.
BUY IT NOW.
THE END
