Imagine this: A starry night fills the sky, a cool wind blows through and it's the perfect night to relax. You lay down on your recliner chair outside, you put on some beats and gaze upon the stars. Slowly but surely, your eyes flutter shut as you start to daydream .
And what you dream in such a beautiful night is Sayonara Wild Hearts.

I cannot describe how much I would recommend this game. But why so?

1. The Music
The main draw of this game is honestly the music. I could grind a song multiple times and would never get sick of it. It's an earworm. I'm currently humming to Begin Again as I write this. If you like upbeat and soothing songs, then you will certainly enjoy its pop soundtrack. In fact, the OST is available on music streaming platforms, so give the main theme a listen!

2. The Game
I would firstly like to warn any DJMax/OSU!/etc enthusiasts that if you are looking for a challenging rhythm game, Sayonara Wild Hearts isn't it. BUT that doesn't mean it's a bad rhythm game. The levels are well charted. Collecting hearts feels satisfying and seamless and routing the game for the best possible score was fun. You strafe and collect hearts to the beat of the song. The design throughout the game was never frustrating; the movement is very precise such that you'll never feel robbed of a death because of slippery controls. Weaving through obstacles is fluid and exhilarating as you zoom through on your motorcycle at 200mph. It is simple enough for both casual and hardcore gamers to understand the patterns and that's a good thing. Challenging modes are unlocked after the game is initially completed for those who want to test their skills.

3. The Aesthetics
Oh boy. This one just speaks for itself honestly. Watch the trailers or a gameplay video. It's out of this world. It's vibrant . It's colourful . It's vivid . The directing is excellent; the camera flows to many different angles to showcase impactful scenes. The game has so many moments worthy of screenshots that I wish they had some form of a photo mode. The characters are simple yet stylish and some say it reminds them of Sailor Moon if you're into that.

4. The Story
There's a heartwarming story in this game about recovering from a loss. I shan't spoil it any further. Tarot cards play a huge role in expanding the context and I suggest reading into its meanings if you want to appreciate the story further. It's a short story, but an empowering one.

Get this game
That's the conclusion. I can't say it enough. I recommend this 3000. It's a jaw dropping experience that you can only get from indie games. Simogo made my indie game of the year. I genuinely had no downsides with this game. It may be a short game but nevertheless one of the most joyful rides in video games. This is what dreams are made of.

As Queen Latifah says, " Sayonara Wild Heart! "
