This is a disgraceful fall from the first game. After the disaster that was the DLC for FTK 1, I had high hopes for the sequel. As it stands, I am legitimately insulted that this game released in this state.

Straight downgrades from the first game:
- The UI is borderline unreadable.
- Clicking inventory brings up the inventory of the person currently taking a turn! I didn't want to interact with my inventory anyway!
- The first rounds of the game are filled with enemies you cannot beat. In the first game, the fights were difficult but losses felt like we were unprepared. In this game, enemies purely stat check you in an unavoidable way while you are being rushed by an asinine countdown.
- Time runs out mechanic is far more frustrating than the initial chaos mechanic. Saying that it is an "introductory mechanic" is a shoddy excuse for poor game design.
- Lore store upgrades are too few and far in between.

New disappointments:
- Mercenaries. Who wanted this? This is the most unsatisfying spit-in-your face mechanic you can implement. It solves few issues with gameplay and hurts the satisfaction of a role-playing game such as this.
- Movement. How can you implement a grid for movement and have none of your game mechanics involve positioning in any meaningful way? Blocking for allies behind you? Great, let's also implement splash attacks. And you can only move one square a turn.

Any half-assed defense saying "this is launch day", or "these problems get better later" is inexcusable. If you can't foresee these glaring issues in your game during design and play-testing, there is no way you can expect players to pick up any product from this company in the future. If the game was merely flawed, I would not have left such a scathing review. Even the worst games I've ever played has not made me want to put it down within minutes.

really enjoyable game. it's just like realm of the mad god except it's less frustrating when you die. mechanics are intuitive for the most part and the game has a good difficulty curve.

Trove is a creative blend of an MMORPG and a sandbox-ish building game. In my opinion, it adds the concept of Minecraft, separating the building from the adventuring. While this is all well and good, the approach for the way the game progresses is not at all optimal. The first few hours of the game is fun, as players get to unlock new abilities and classes, while exploring the various biomes. After playing for a while, the players get to trade and experience the game's unique economic system. However, once people put in those hours, the game's creativity turns into endless grinding for levels, gear, and gems. Overall, it's a fun game, but it gets stale.

(P.S. )Also, I have to complain about how the racing gamemode is basically unplayable with the connection issues that this game has. The attacks sometimes takes seconds to process and it's very frustrating.
