I'm an avid TTRPG fan so seeing a turn-based combat system so well implemented in an open world adventure is astounding. I haven't seen anything of this kind anywhere yet, and can't wait for more.

So far I've been playing together with my sibling, but solo campaigns are equally engaging!

Being in control of your leveling (spells, skills, proficiencies) is familiar, and works amazingly in this game. I feel like I'm fully immersed in a visually stunning D&D campaign.

In one word: wow.
In five words: I cannot believe my eyes.

Funny, every time I play it.

This game is fun for 2-4 players. You can play this on your own, against CPUs, but where's the fun in a multiplayer game if you don't play it together? You start out slicing all your friends' characters to death so you're the only one that can "Crawl" the depths of Crawl.
After all your friends are dead, they turn into ghosts (antagonists), whose mission it is to kill the current protagonist so that they can take over their life and become the new protagonist. As ghosts, players can summon playable demons by activating pentagrams which are scattered all over the floors of rooms that the protagonist must explore to level up, and become powerful enough to beat the final boss.

The protagonist gains experience points and money by beating the demons that the antagonists summon and control in combat. Money can be spent on better weapons, better abilities, and "artifacts" that give the protagonist various abilities. Experience points level the protagonist up when moving to the next floor.
When the protagonist levels up, the antagonists gain "Wrath", which they can exchange to make the demons they summon stronger, and thus harder to beat for the protagonist.

This game pits you and your friends against each other in a heated, but friendly competitive experience. You're sure to call your friends names in frustration, but that's some, if not most, of the fun of this game.

My gripes:
- Steam's Remote Play Together feature is not very kind on people with bad or average internet. I would love to see a proper multiplayer implementation, but I guess that's just wishful thinking...
- If one of the players is disproportionately good at the game, they will stay alive for a long time, meaning everyone else's monsters level up, and as soon as they become the protagonist, they are quickly bested in combat because their protagonist is no match for the high-level antagonist demons.

Possible fixes:
- Just play this when you're on the same network, it's a great (LAN) party game!
- Play with people who are evenly matched.

it's free, it runs on a potato, and it can be as soul sucking as league of legends, except the community is kinda nice.
there's a lot of spam but there's a "ignore under <stars>" setting that turns most of that off.
get your friends to play this with you cause doing dungeon chains with your guild is a lot of fun!

At least EA got the season title correct, they're generating some massive "Upheaval" with this capitalist buffoonery. 2 battle passes in one season is insane. Do not give this company your well-earned moolah. Go play Baldur's Gate 3 or something.
