This game is an unbalanced grindfest and the devs have no intention to fix it and rather they just add more things for the players to grind for (and more importantly to pretty much force them to pay for premium, and gold), it takes literally thousands of winning matches to unlock even a single tank at higher levels, even with premium (it just makes it so that you have to win 5000 games instead of 10000)

I came to this game with the lowest of expectations and still managed to get disappointed.

Don't be fooled by the all the marketing and PR fluff, this game isn't "Call of Duty going back to it's roots", it's just the same old tired modern call of duty formula with a WW2 coating. Same, circular microscopic map design, same gun-and-run gameplay that consists in a bunch of 12 year olds running around the map like a headless chicken, same floaty weapons that feel liek htey are made out of styrofoam, same crappy netcode that has you killed by people who hadn't even rendered on your screen, and let's not get into period-appropiate things like reflex sights on all weapons and stuff like incendiary rounds on infiantry weapons, because nothing screams WW2 more than a guy bunnyhopping at 20 mph while shooting incendiary buckshotf from a shotgun with a red dot sight, amirite.

If you were expecting the WW2 setting meant going back to the more tactical gameplay of COD and COD2, you'll be greatly disappointed. If you want a MW WW2 reskin just go play World at War instead

The game is pretty good, but this "port" is just DOSBox bundled with the barebones MS-DOS version, with all the bugs and issues it had 20 years ago still unfixed, it also runs like ass, with lots of freezes and stuttering on both the geoscape and the battle map.

EDIT: if you feel inclined to pay for this crappy port you should download OpenXCOM, it includes the old patches Steam didn't bother to add to the download and improves the performance so it can run on modern computers

It's basically the original XCOM meets Mark of the Ninja.
