Back in the olden days, Destiny 1 was possibly my favourite game ever.

Destiny 2 never really lived up to it as a sequel. At launch the game had little content, and design decisions were made with the weapon system that needed fixing. It was a poor imitation of the game it was replacing.

The game was in a good place after expansions like Forsaken, The Witch Queen and even The Final Shape, but the constant nerfing of powers and favourite weapons has worn me down after all this time. It was annoying back in Destiny 1 but it's worse now.

If I wasn't nostaligic for the old days and invested in the story then I wouldn't play this now.

As the current story arc (that started with Destiny 1) is now at an end I'll probably bow out after this season as that's when I'm paid up until.

For a new player, there is still fun to be had here but once all the initial content is exhausted then the the seasonal grind is just monotonous. The game is no longer in a good place and feels to me at least, like it's winding down.
