So I thought this was a short game... IT IS NOT! The game gets weird... Then it get's more weird... I'm still unsure if I found "all endings" but holy heck! I got BANG FOR MY BUCK

Honestly one of the best FMV games on Steam, I've played it twice, probably gonna play it a third time... I have no idea if it has "multiple endings" I just enjoy it that much

Phasmophobia - "A Game That Lost It's Scare"

Phasmophobia used to be THE horror experience. A game where the fear of the unknown kept you on edge. You and your friends, nervously communicating, trying to figure out what kind of ghost you were dealing with—always on the lookout, always fearing the worst. And then suddenly, the ghost would hunt, and it was absolute chaos. It was fun, terrifying, and exhilarating all at once.

But somewhere along the way, the devs made a questionable decision. Instead of doubling down on the fear factor, they decided to introduce a ranking system. And while that’s fine for some games, in Phasmophobia, it shifted the entire focus. Now people are grinding away on the hardest settings, memorizing ghost patterns, and trying to max their way to the top, often solo. The sense of fear has been replaced by an almost robotic approach to the game. It’s no longer about surviving the terrifying unknown—it's about playing the game as efficiently as possible.

It used to be that you never knew what could set off a ghost. The thrill of it, the sudden jumpscares when you thought you were safe, the panic that would erupt if you made too much noise—it kept you on your toes. But now? Just avoid talking too loudly and you’re fine. The ghost isn't unpredictable anymore, it’s just part of the grind.

I’ve seen the clips online—people love the scares. The jump scares, the tense moments where you weren’t sure if the ghost was going to get you. That’s what made Phasmophobia great! So why strip it away for a mindless grind fest? If you’re going to update the game, at least add new scares or something that reignites that feeling of terror. It’s frustrating to see such potential wasted on a ranking system that no one really asked for.

Phasmophobia had a magic to it. Now it feels like any other game where people are just trying to get the highest score.

I can no longer recommend this game as a game that will scare you and keep you on edge. The game is worth every $$ spent and anyone new to the game will probably feel the fear as originally intended while having a blast. Unfortunately, as mentioned before, the developers have vocally stated they will NOT ADD ANY NEW SCARES or focus on the FEAR of the game.

I wish I could give it a "neutral" rating because the game is good and worth playing... Just don't expect anything more after the initial fear wears off. If you're not into seasonal events and ranks then this game will get a bit numb & monotonous after a while...
