Original Review (4 hours in): Picked this up on sale, bought it for a friend because I loved it so much, and would pay full price all over again. Although I'm still completing the game, this is quickly rising on my favorites list. The music is fantastic, the art is gorgeous, and I never realized how much I could care about a fictional sword until Transistor.

Adding to original:
I'm almost 19 hours in at this point, and still on my second playthrough. Granted, some of these hours come from me being afk and leaving the game running. I know people that have completed the game in less than 5 hours or so, but I just keep taking time to read each bio, complete each achievement, and generally replay the game. My second playthrough is just as good (perhaps better, now that I know the story and can pick up on more subtext) as the first.

This is, all in all, a very excellent game. The soundtrack is just as wonderful as the game. Art is wonderful, gameplay is very much dependent on your cycle - my first playthrough, I relied very heavily on a feature called "Turn". Turn pauses the game and allows you to plot out each action. On my second, I've been relying much more on live play and slotted skills accordingly.

Honestly? Buy this game. You won't regret it. It's worth every penny and every hour you put in. You will have feels. You will be emotionally attached to the sword. You will probably yell profanity at the screen.

You will regret nothing.
